While the world seems to be in love with the idea of tiny houses and minimalism, many of us simply can't purge it all and start from nothing. Yet a home with too much stuff is difficult to maintain, so where do we begin? Add in paralyzing emotional attachments and constant life challenges, and it can feel almost impossible to make real decluttering progress.

Historia
God is great-for your mental, physical, and spiritual health. Based on new evidence culled from brain-scan studies and a wide-reaching survey of people's religious and spiritual experiences, neuroscientist Andrew Newberg, MD, and therapist Mark Robert Waldman offer the following breakthrough discoveries: Not only do prayer and spiritual practice reduce stress, but just 12 minutes of meditation per day may slow down the aging process.

not enough neuroscience
Revisado: 11-23-22
Though I was hoping the author would talk more about the neuroscience, I could not get past the first few chapters that are focused on the argument of the equality of religious faiths. So much time was spent on the issue of diversity and what is wrong with churches holding strong beliefs, and whether or not you need God, that I quickly became bored. If the author had written the book without spending so much time on that, so that you could learn how faith in God changes your brain and focus on the science, then I think any one of any faith could gain something from it. I wish I could return the book - it's not what I thought it was about.

An honest, hilarious, and endearing account
Revisado: 01-29-22
Growing up with Cagney and Lacey and not realizing until recently how ground breaking it was, I have always loved Sharon Gless. having watched the series again, I realize that as a teen I tried to dress like her character. Her role in one of my favorite all-time shows Burn Notice is unforgettable. She is witty, charming, strong and very soft and vulnerable. I relate with her in many ways, mostly on the emotional level and loyalty to friendships, and others not so much, but she is an original woman and her book is a wonderful read. Her book is best read through audible, with her unique voice that expresses every nuance of emotion that she can carry. Sharon, you may not feel comfortable being yourself, but bravo... I can't imagine anyone ever being able to hold a candle to playing you, so I'm glad that you just presented yourself as you. You're "take me or leave me" attitude is one I admire and I think most of us love and accept you, just the way you are! Thank you for sharing and I'm glad you are happy. Looking forward to your next role...

Despite constant efforts to declutter your home, do papers still accumulate like snowdrifts and clothes pile up like a tangled mess of noodles?Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you'll never have to do it again. Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever.

Too much history and facts about animals
Revisado: 12-16-21
Chapter after chapter on a variety of obscure animals and how they store fat before they tell you the "switch" which sounds still to be some level of theory. Not a lot of how to...I skipped through the majority of the book and will likely return it because it was just that bad.

Horrible, boring, and misleading "mystery"
Revisado: 01-18-21
Well, after going through a chapter or two of boring inner thoughts of the women who are constantly comparing themselves to each other, I reached a chapter where I was disgusted and had to stop and return. This is not at all what you think it is. Certainly, was not what I thought it was. Not worth any of my time.

Historia
You've no doubt heard of the seven-year itch in marriages? It's more than just an urban legend. Half of all first marriages end in divorce by the time they hit the seven-year anniversary. The truly sad aspect of this is that nothing is apparently learned from the first marriage to the second. You may expect the divorce rates for second marriages to fall. Nothing could be further from the truth. Instead, the rate of divorce for second marriages is actually 10 percent higher than for first-time marriages.

Narration sounds like a computer
Revisado: 05-23-20
The narration for this books is slow, stilted, stiff and extremely mechanical, like a computer did it instead of a person. It makes it a slow read and difficult to listen to. If you speed it up to a normal pace, there are places where the words run together so much they are unintelligible. Also, I am not sure that the content is all that new. I am not even sure, however, I can get through the book because of the bad performance!

Historia
When you ask people about their most cherished values in life, "happiness" is always at the top of the list. But surprisingly few people claim real happiness. We seem to be completely satisfied with nothing, and indeed, there is little correlation between the circumstances of people's lives and how happy they are.

Historia
This is a book about discovering what we really need. There are a lot of second-best options, but we weren't made to live a second-best life. Finding what we actually need is different than what we are often offered. There are many books full of opinions, steps and programs. This isn't one of them. This is about craving the things that matter. Things that don't just work, but last.

Boring story about someone else's life
Revisado: 04-05-17
Would you try another book from Maria Goff and Bob Goff - foreword and/or Maria Goff?
I might read a book of Bob's- never read one, but I did not like this book. We read it as part of a ladies Bible study and I just could not connect to it.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Beth Moore
What didn’t you like about Maria Goff’s performance?
I can't put my finger on it
Any additional comments?
It felt like a book of someone else's memories and cliche's and there was a lot about a life that most people don't lead. It was like reading someone's positive FB posts and not enough about the real struggles and how to overcome, or where that ties in the Bible. Though I like positivity and I am sure (no doubt) that these people are God filled people, it read like a book of positive affirmations and one sentence life lessons or proverbs. You can get this book cheaper at a Christian book store too than on Audible and I would recommend that.
