sound effects distracting while driving

I was excited to start the GA version after the stupendous versions they released of Kate Daniels...
BUT...
The background sound effects are horrible to listen to while driving... I think sound of cicadas at one point made me pull over because I thought something went wrong with my engine... another time, I think the sound was supposed to be walking footsteps made me think I had a tire going flat. And if you have tinnitus, the jinging faint ringing in the background at points will drive you nuts, and my tinnitus is not extremely bad... I really hate the overblown background noises in this version.
The voice acting is well done, but the sound effects are too distracting while driving!!! Which is when I listen to most of my audiobooks. Kate Daniels had minimal sound effects... sigh

I love the swashbuckling inkslinging witticisms in this book as much as in one of my all-time favorite movies: The Mummy. I love the hero and heroine, the storyline, the action, the adventure, and the narration. One of my favorites.

far too short of course, but 5000 pages would be too short for me, so what do I know. The usual Christmas jaunt through time. unexpected loveliness in the end where trouble catches up with Max, par for the course.

loved it. Dr. Barstow is a flat out genius. Leon is the ideal man. And I love both Peterson and Markham. Bot Max TAKES THE CAKE... if it is chocolate.

What made the experience of listening to Cast in Sorrow the most enjoyable?

I enjoyed the servants assigned to help Kaylin. I enjoyed meeting the Lord of the Green again. I enjoyed the "little Dragon's" adventures.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Cast in Sorrow?

When she lead the Lord of the Green to the rot in the Heart of the Green

What does Khristine Hvam bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her slue of voices. her drama and narration.

Have and will again. the series is wonderful. involving and evolving.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Marcus was only in the beginning. Drat. But Teela is quite funny when she isn't angry.

What about Khristine Hvam’s performance did you like?

I love her performances of the Cast In books. Her continued dramatic performance of Teela is rich and evocative.

Where does Cast in Ruin rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

this series is one of my favorites. I have listened to the whole series multiple times. I have re-read it even more times. I will do so again before the next book.

Marcus, Sanabalis, Archon, Tiamaris, Severn, Nightshade, ... oh, everyone.

I love this series. I heartily recommend it to everyone. It is unlike anything else in my 2000+ library. It is unique- serious, funny, scary, mysterious, and intriguing.
