Well written. I don't recommend this audio book to anyone driving or involved in an activity that requires primary attention. The progress through this book will be more appreciated with few distractions. however, I do recommend it.

very well written with a great story line
Revisado: 06-01-23
The heroes of the story are portrayed with amazing clarity and honesty. Although most experiences were tempered for a pg rating it still portrayed war as a terrible time and not one to be envied.
Having spent some time on a sub in the late 1970's this series hit me hard.

Historia
Stoner knew. The fiery object hurtling toward the Earth was an alien spacecraft. But the world might never know. He was trapped in an iron cordon of secrecy, for the discovery had shattered the world power balance, setting off a brutal struggle for supremacy that raged from the sacred halls of the Vatican to the corridors of the Kremlin and the Pentagon. The forces of fear and treachery would use any weapon at their command, from mind war to sabotage, to keep the world in darkness.

It is amazing to me how we can so easily forget the painful side of history. Ms. Morris masterfully related the story of some real people involved at Auschwitz and other concentration camps under the Nazis.

Historia
Franklin Roosevelt is the assistant secretary of defense. Thomas Dewey is running for president with a blunt-speaking Missourian named Harry Truman at his side. Britain holds on to its desperate alliance with the United States' worst enemy while a holocaust unfolds in Texas. In Harry Turtledove's compelling, disturbing, and extraordinarily vivid reshaping of American history, a war of secession has triggered a generation of madness. The tipping point has come at last.

interesting
Revisado: 08-20-20
Paul Costanzo did a great job narrating on this fourth and last of the Settling Accounts series. I really enjoy Turtledove's alternate histories and fantasies. this series seemed to be a touch more graphic and vulgar than some of his other writings but I found this more down to earth, more realistic than others as well. don't listen if you are sensitive towards extreme prejudice depictions.

Historia
In 1914, the First World War ignited a brutal conflict in North America, with the United States finally defeating the Confederate States. In 1917, the Great War ended and an era of simmering hatred began, fueled by the despotism of a few and the sacrifice of many. Now it's 1942. The USA and CSA are locked in a tangle of jagged, blood-soaked battle lines, modern weaponry, desperate strategies, and the kind of violence that only the damned could conjure up for their enemies and themselves.

Historia
In The Case for Grace, Lee offers an accessible explanation of the theology of God's grace, shown through the incredible, dramatic, can't-put-it-down stories of people whose lives were changed by the gift of grace--true accounts of people whose transformation and renewal are so radical that they seem to be best explained as the work of a gracious God.

wonderful description of God's grace to us. Lee points out that God dispenses His goodness not with an eyedropper but with a fire hose. our heart is like a Dixie cup and God's grace is like the Mediterranean Sea. we simply cannot contain it all.
