Historia
Charlie Bucktin, a bookish 13 year old, is startled one summer night by an urgent knock on his bedroom window. His visitor is Jasper Jones, an outcast in their small mining town, and he has come to ask for Charlie's help. Terribly afraid but desperate to impress, Charlie follows him into the night. Jasper takes him to his secret glade, where Charlie witnesses Jasper's horrible discovery. With his secret like a brick in his belly, Charlie is pushed and pulled by a town closing in on itself in fear and suspicion.

Good teen fiction
Revisado: 11-28-12
If you could sum up Jasper Jones in three words, what would they be?
Heartfelt teen murder-mystery
What was one of the most memorable moments of Jasper Jones?
The main character's mention of To Kill a Mockingbird draws an obvious parallel to this novel.

Beautifully read
Revisado: 09-30-12
Where does Memento Nora rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
As a middle school teacher, I am constantly looking for new great YA books. This is one. The characters are real and compelling, and it does not have a Disney ending.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Memento Nora?
I enjoyed the interaction between the teens. The fact that well into the plot and their "friendship" they were still wary of one another and distrustful. It felt like real teens.
What does Gail Stairs bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The reading of this book was beautiful. Ms. Stairs sold the trendy "glossy" as well as the dark anger in the characters.
Any additional comments?
I searched for the next book, The Forgetting Curve, and was ready to buy it. It is not here yet. Hopefully soon.
