I'll be listening to this one again. I loved the reading, the story line and the perfect way the author portrayed her grief, among other things.

I enjoyed this story so much. Perfectly paced to keep me wanting more at all times, I laughed out loud on so many occasions. I wanted to meet Eleanor in person! The reading was wonderful too, loved the pace, loved the accent.

Great read

This was a great story. It was one of the books I felt that I would have enjoyed more in a paper edition simply because it was a complicated, winding story, with a lot of twists and in those I like to turn back and reread portions. That being said, those plot twist were exciting and well written in the story line.
I did not enjoy the "male" voices in this reading. Changing her voice made me feel a bit creepy. I would have enjoyed if she could have just read instead.

I don't know much at all about the Cuban regime and the struggles that country has faced. I thought the history was incorporated well into the story line. Although a bit political, that's to be expected with a book of this topic.

Excellent story

I loved the story. I admire how the author wrote in such a way that you were left to evaluate your deep feelings, as if you were there in the town. How would you have judged? Which side would you be on? Do you believe in her or do you judge her like the others? I couldn't stop listening until the very end.
I wasn't a fan of the narration, the way she spoke in the simple accents was a bit distracting, but I got used to it.

Inspiring

I related to Rachel more than I expected. She wrote about truths in a comfortable, familiar manner and helped me see that I, and the rest of the beautiful women on the planet are doing a great job! The chapter with her brother was heartwrenching, as I have lost both a son and a brother in the same manner of death and was a chapter I had to steal myself away to read. But it was real, frank, and necessary.
