Historia
John Comer kept a journal of the 25 missions he flew in 1943, when the casualty rate on his base was close to 80 percent. His book is handwritten history, recorded within hours after the battles occurred. Comer vividly creates his experiences as top-turret gunner/flight engineer in a B-17 squadron that was thrown against the best pilots the Luftwaffe could offer.

Great Story!
Revisado: 04-23-23
Author is interesting, credible, and has a great story which recounts his tour as a bomber. After listening to stories of his 25 missions, it’s hard to believe today that men would volunteer for this. The odds of returning from a single mission was 25%.

Historia
In this book, Erich von Däniken shares the story of his friend Adel H., an Egyptologist who, as a 16-year-old boy, was trapped for days under the Step Pyramid of Saqqara. Based on his conversations with Adel H., he retells the boy's search for a way out of the underground world, how the boy roamed passageways and chambers and saw what he calls "impossible" things of which the professional world is completely unaware.

Historia
By August 1968, the American space program was in danger of failing in its two most important objectives: to land a man on the moon by President Kennedy's end-of-decade deadline and to triumph over the Soviets in space. With its back against the wall, NASA made an almost unimaginable leap: It would scrap its usual methodical approach and risk everything on a sudden launch, sending the first men in history to the moon - in just four months.

Pretty Good story.
Revisado: 01-15-19
Pretty good story. Kennedy Killed, MLK killed, Vietnam and the space race with the Russia frame the time period of this book. This book follows the story of the first astronauts to orbit the moon. The author provides the background information from childhood to adult which follows a somewhat generic outline of aspirations as a child to adult to wanting to be an astronaut and due to chance, the main characters achieve their dream to become an astronaut.
Overall a pretty good book. The book did a good job of combining history and science for an enjoyable read.
