Reached broad spectrum of ideas
Revisado: 12-12-24
The author has an agenda that theology is correct. There are a lot of flaws in what he perceives is correct I would not recommend this to someone who just wants to learn about what philosophy is. This is for a philosopher who already knows terms and definitions. I am still looking for a book that bullet points, key terms, and ideas without stating their way of thinking. Which that book might not exist.

Narration was poor. I usually like when the author narrates, but this was not entertaining. Story was okay.

Historia
After a few billion years of bearing witness to life on Earth, of watching one hundred billion humans go about their day-to-day lives, of feeling unbelievably lonely, and of hearing its own story told by others, The Milky Way would like a chance to speak for itself. All one hundred billion stars and fifty undecillion tons of gas of it. It all began some thirteen billion years ago, when clouds of gas scattered through the universe's primordial plasma just could not keep their metaphorical hands off each other.

All these negative reviews, don’t get it.
Revisado: 04-28-23
The only reason I am writing a review for this book is all the negative reviews that I just read. It was comedy. Satirical. Adding human cultural perspective to something that does not have self-awareness was hilarious. I hope Moiya writes more books with this perspective.

Historia
What's it like to travel at more than 850 MPH, riding in a supersonic T-38 twin turbojet engine airplane? What happens when the space station toilet breaks? How do astronauts "take out the trash" on a spacewalk, tightly encapsulated in a space suit with just a few layers of fabric and Kevlar between them and the unforgiving vacuum of outer space?

Astronaut 101: Professor Anderson
Revisado: 04-10-17
Where does The Ordinary Spaceman rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This Memoir by Clayton C. Anderson easily ranks in the top 5 of all the books I have listened to or read.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Easy, Clayton C. Anderson. This is a Memoir
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
The performance was my least favorite part of this book, Mr. Anderson has a lot of sarcastic tones throughout the book and a lot of humor, but the narrator does not emphatically hit these precise moments. On the other hand, the narrator was extremely clear and easy to understand.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, I took my time with this book. Mr. Anderson and I are acquaintances, and by acquaintances, I mean we have chatted on Quora a time or two. He asked me to give an honest opinion of his book.
Any additional comments?
Mr. Anderson's Memoir captures the essence of letting the layperson understand the basics of how one becomes an AsCan...on the 15th try. He also describes perfectly what it takes and means to be selected to "fly" as a NASA Astronaut. If you want an inside scoop from how nicknames are given, to tragedy, to reprimands of NASA this book is for you. This is an extremely honest book in my opinion because Mr. Anderson not only highlights his successes, but also his short falls. If I am lucky enough to meet Mr. Anderson and his family, not only would I shake all of their hands proudly, but I would feel I knew them. Great book, and to quote Mr. Anderson "Keep looking up"

Great f******g book! (I used this expletive on purpose)
Revisado: 11-22-16
This book is terrific. The author and narrator are perfect. This is a MUST listen to book for anyone who is not offended by language. Very well written and analogies/examples are spectacular. The narrator speech and delivery have the perfect blend of sarcasm and reality. I will add this author and narrator to my book list.

Historia
It started with a college course assignment, then escalated into a dangerous obsession. Eighteen-year-old honor student Jason Moss wrote to men whose body counts had made criminal history: men named Dahmer, Manson, Ramirez, and Gacy. Posing as their ideal victim, Jason seduced them with his words. One by one they wrote him back, showering him with their madness and violent fantasies. Then the game spun out of control. John Wayne Gacy revealed all to Jason - and invited his pen pal to visit him in prison.... It was an offer Jason couldn't turn down. Even if it made him....

Great topic, Inventive technique, but lacks...
Revisado: 11-06-14
Would you listen to The Last Victim again? Why?
No, because the story is not inventive, if the storyline stayed true to the great inventive way Moss gathers his information I would have rated 5 stars.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
Narration was okay, he does a great job changing his voices so you know who is talking, however the voices could have used some improvement.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Just when Moss decides to share the details of the conversation/letters he received Moss would say it is to graphic to repeat... Ummm, I am an adult and isn't that why you wrote the book?
Any additional comments?
Author has a good attempt at writing a book, but he needs some maturity/seasoning on writing. I would recommend solely for the unique and inventive way he gathers the trust and information from his subjects.
