Incredible Novel
Revisado: 09-16-21
Although this novel was difficult to hear in some sections, it is an amazing work. Written with love and beauty as well as horrific reminders of war.
My mother grew up in Germany during these years and came to the United States as a war bride of an American soldier. I have been to Germany many times during my life, buried my mother in the family grave in Frankfurt- Heddernheim. I know only bits and pieces of what she and her family endured during the war years but know conditions were not as bad as those in the Weimar area and there were no Nazi internment camps near Frankfurt
My thanks to Jenna Blum for this extraordinary work

Historia
Bryan Stevenson was a young lawyer when he founded the Equal Justice Initiative, a legal practice dedicated to defending those most desperate and in need: the poor, the wrongly condemned, and women and children trapped in the farthest reaches of our criminal justice system. One of his first cases was that of Walter McMillian, a young man who was sentenced to die for a notorious murder he insisted he didn’t commit. The case drew Bryan into a tangle of conspiracy, political machination, and legal brinksmanship—and transformed his understanding of mercy and justice forever.

This is an amazing, shocking, eye-opening book and both sad and joyous. Beautifully written and performed, the stories of the cases fought by Bryan Stevenson and the Equal Justice Initiative are riveting. So thankful for the work he and his colleagues have done these many years. Hopeful that our justice system can further evolve to provide fair and just mercy in the future.

enjoyed this mystery crime novel. it's written in rather simplistic language (possibly because the author writes young adult fiction) but I liked the plot and characters and it was a good story.
will look forward to more Tara Mills books.

Historia
If the Bible isn’t a science book or an instruction manual, then what is it? What do people mean when they say the Bible is inspired? When Rachel Held Evans found herself asking these questions, she began a quest to better understand what the Bible is and how it is meant to be read. What she discovered changed her—and it will change you too.
Drawing on the best in recent scholarship and using her well-honed literary expertise, Evans examines some of our favorite Bible stories and possible interpretations, retelling them through memoir, original poetry, short stories, soliloquies, and even a short screenplay. Undaunted by the Bible’s most difficult passages, Evans wrestles through the process of doubting, imagining, and debating Scripture’s mysteries. The Bible, she discovers, is not a static work but is a living, breathing, captivating, and confounding book that is able to equip us to join God’s loving and redemptive work in the world.
