I'm not sure if I can review this book fairly. I relate to Irby on so many things. I could've written this book myself if I was as clever. The wittiness is enjoyable to read.

I'm a bit stingy with my credits and prefer to purchase longer books on Audible. In this case I will also buy a hard copy but the audio version was very enjoyable and chock full o my some of my favourite actors.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Maybe someone who has never been in a violent relationship and doesn't understand why the victim might stay would benefit more from this title.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Next I'm going to listen to something lighter. Perhaps a memoir from one of my favourite comedians.
What aspect of Olivia Song’s performance would you have changed?
The way the narrator pronounced 'Vegas' was so distracting that I stopped listened for an entire day. For all I know that could be the correct pronunciation of the city, but it was so unlike any other reference I have heard that grated me.
Any additional comments?
I wish I knew what I was getting into before I listened to this book. I chose it on the recommendation of a friend. She has also been abused in the past so I really don't understand why she liked it so much. I hated this! I don't know what to say to her now that I'm finished. I wasn't ready for this.
