Intriguing and captivating storyline
Revisado: 04-24-25
The twists and jagged turns in this book will compel you if you muscle through the couple chapters in the beginning of adapting to the well-developed character. I do not have one doubt that at some point you may let out an audible gasp or two and possibly even a “what the f*%#?!” Enjoy, darlings.

This book is INSANE!!! The suspense and incredible twists to the end.
Revisado: 08-21-24
It is rare that at the end of a book I’m not growing weary and dully measuring the predictable outcome. With this final act I was completely flabbergasted and more than once mouthed: NO WAY. WHAT! It is SO GOOD. Just brilliantly executed in every detail. Worth every minute and penny.

Twists and good intrigue throughout the story
Revisado: 08-19-24
The author keeps the tone in her even keel and not overly dramatic way in this suspenseful tale of a woman seeking new adventures in middle age and a flat marriage only to find herself in love with, then parted tragically from her new lover: one she could not have envisioned having the twisted past he does. This book is rife with everything necessary to keep you on the edge of your seat as you listen.

Eerie and mysterious tale of the nearly-untouchable wealthy class and the servants who they employ.
Revisado: 08-11-24
I loved this story, it was so well-woven and read. The characters were well-developed and it was easy to envision this modern Downton Abbey-esque world where a young woman seemingly abandoned by her downtrodden mother comes to be employed as a maid at a grand home then finds herself ensconced in a web of horrors.

The words and teachings
In this book gave me great peace and wellbeing. Just listening to the narrator’s voice reading the lessons and wisdom of this monk immediately calmed my nervous system every time I put it on. I was able to remember to breathe, relax, be intentional, and to see through a more accepting lens as I travel through this life. I’m grateful.

On a warm spring evening, guests gather in a perfectly manicured garden to celebrate Maggie and Len’s twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. Maggie leans against the apple tree, watching her fun-loving husband and darling children as her heart swells with pride. As the joyful party atmosphere disappears into the night, close by, the lifeless body of a young woman is pulled from a river. Slipping upstairs to find the special gift for her adoring husband, Maggie stumbles across something else hidden amongst the dusty boxes of family keepsakes.

Historia
Ever since I met my handsome husband Dr Gabe Bonneville, I started playing the role of the perfect housewife. He works hard as a surgeon, so I look after our home, and throw elaborate dinner parties with champagne cocktails for his best friends Hugh and Anita. He’s my safe place and my chance to have the family I’ve always wanted. I’ve managed to hide the mornings when I wake up and see a face in the shadows. I haven’t told Gabe the truth about the woman who raised me, or told him about the therapy I’ve been getting so my secrets stay hidden in the dark.

This book was probably one of my favorites from this author, Daniel Hurst. The Neighbors keeps one in suspense and query until the very end and is really great at keeping you intrigued with each chapter. I loved it, and I am an avid reader of both the author and of psychological thrillers and suspense and this one was spot on. It made me very relieved that my neighbors are too far away to bother me much! I’m sure you’ll enjoy this one.

The beautiful imagery of the author’s words and the artful way in which she weaves her tale are magical!!
Revisado: 04-19-24
This enchanting, enrapturing book is one that I was both delighted and transfixed to listen to every spare moment until its end. The way the author paints her words draws you in and gives such strong visual stimulation. I honestly have not been so happy to read/listen to an audiobook of this stature in a long time. The narrator was absolutely perfect in her telling it, causing you to feel as though it really is the main character speaking her words to you. I loved it so much!
