Historia
Lily isn’t exactly thrilled with her arrival in the Afterlife, but what awaits her there is more fantastical than she ever could have imagined: Deities wait in line at the coffee shop. Fae flit between realms. Souls find ways to make death a beginning. As she explores the many corners of the Afterlife, Lily finds herself surprisingly drawn to a place most people would avoid at all costs: Hell. Armed with years of customer service experience and pent-up sarcasm, Lily carves a job out for herself amongst Hell’s demons, sending souls to their rightful circles with more than a hint of sass.

From the the first chapter you’ll be in love with Lily. Every character you meet adds to the depth of the story. Humor, poignancy, suspense… it’s all here. Loved it!

Historia
Bound for Distant Seas begins sailing author James Baldwin's epic tale of his second circumnavigation. His story is seasoned by his adventures during his first circumnavigation in 1984-86 as told in Across Islands and Oceans. Alone with little money aboard Atom, his now-engineless 28-foot sailboat, James embarks on his odyssey without the comforts and equipment most sailors consider essential.

Historia
John Kretschmer is sailing’s practical philosopher - as much a doer as a thinker. And that is the overarching theme of this chronicle of a sailing life. Often amusing, sometimes poignant, occasionally terrifying but always inspiring, his deeply personal account is a welcome reminder of the good life waiting at sea. With hundreds of thousands of nautical miles under his keel, John’s adventures have taken him several times around the world.

Excellent writing, fantastic sea stories
Revisado: 05-14-23
John Kretschmer has the unique ability to take you along on his many ocean voyages with every word. I wish the narrator had taken the time to find out how to pronounce words he was unfamiliar with. He had several versions of “Quetzal” and she’s one of the most important characters in the book. Despite this, the beautifully written stories came through.

Fantastic!!
Revisado: 05-09-23
The author of this book does an amazing job of taking you with him on his sea voyages. You’re right there, watching the sunset, feeling the spray on your face, and even the fear as large waves crash over the stern of your boat. Anyone with the love of the sea will love this book, and if you don’t yet have a lot of the sea, you will when it’s done.

Too much in their own heads
Revisado: 02-23-23
I like stories that are written in first person, but this one spent too much time in each of the speakers heads. There were multiple times, when there was so much inner dialogue that you lose the thread of the actual dialogue. And basically this entire story was based on what this secret gift from the grandmother was, and we never did find out.
