Historia
In this boldly optimistic debut memoir, Hayley Arceneaux details how she overcame seemingly insurmountable odds to grab hold of a life greater than she’d ever imagined. With her signature upbeat messaging, Arceneaux recounts her odyssey, from her cancer diagnosis at age ten and the yearlong treatment that inspired her goal of working with pediatric cancer patients, to living through her father’s terminal cancer diagnosis, to getting her lifelong dream job at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as a physician assistant.

Excellent book

Really good book, and very well read.
Although I followed the mission closely, this was a great insight into Hayley's life, and I didn't want it to end.

Historia
The science of emotion is in the midst of a revolution on par with the discovery of relativity in physics and natural selection in biology. Leading the charge is psychologist and neuroscientist Lisa Feldman Barrett, whose research overturns the long-standing belief that emotions are automatic, universal, and hardwired in different brain regions. Instead, Barrett shows, we construct each instance of emotion through a unique interplay of brain, body, and culture.

Great mind opener

Explained the complex brain concept really well and made it easy to understand. Challenged a lot of "common knowledge" with new information based on experiments and data.

Loved the book. Engaging all the way to the end. The reading was also great. Lots of depth and detail in the performance.
More sci-fi with female leads please.

Historia
Kari Byron's story hasn't been a straight line. She started out as a broke artist living in San Francisco, writing poems on a crowded bus on the way to one of her three jobs. Many curveballs, unexpected twists, and yes, literal and figurative explosions later, and she's one of the world's most respected women in science entertainment, blowing stuff up on national television and getting paid for it! In Crash Test Girl, Kari reveals her fascinating life story on the set of MythBusters and beyond.

Fascinating and captivating
Revisado: 06-25-18
Loved the book.
The way Kari used different myths the process behind them to present different aspects of her life was great.
There was never a dull moment, and her presentation was full of nuance. My only complaint is that the book had to end.
Would definitely recommend buying this book.

Loved the book. Interesting and funny. Read by the author always helps the story. But Lindsey's performance was mesmerising. I now want all my books to be read by her.

Historia
Humanity's first reusable spacecraft and the most complex machine ever built, NASA's space shuttle debuted with great promise and as a dependable source of wonder and national pride. But with the Challenger catastrophe in 1986, the whole space shuttle program came into question, as did NASA itself, so long an institution that was seemingly above reproach. Wheels Stop tells the stirring story of how, after the Challenger disaster, the space shuttle not only recovered but went on to perform its greatest missions.

Good book, and ok narrator
Revisado: 01-14-18
I really liked the book. Lots of details and stories from missions. However two things really annoyed me with the narrator.
1. He has to learn how to pronounce dates..
2. His voice was monotonous, but every time he was narrating a woman, he would try a very soft voice. When narrating non Americans, he would try to speak in an accent. A horrible, horrible accent...
