Historia
In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history. Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.

Revisado: 10-25-23
This darling woman has been through the ringer and then some. I’m so proud of her for speaking her truth and living authentically despite the absolute trauma she’s endured her entire life. A sweet woman who never really got to experience all the fruits of her love and labor until now. Britney I hope you shine brighter than you ever have in this season of your life. You’ve earned it and you deserve it. Money didn’t change you like it did everyone you took care of. I’m glad your heart isn’t evil and resentful, a testament to your true character and spirit ❤️

Historia
In the process of searching for Pinch, a long-lost mythic figure who has attained a talismanic status, Gibs has resorted to making a living doing contract work with his friend Alan, the young man who followed him out of the Wyoming commune. Hired by a family as escorts on a cross-country trip to Texas, they are ambushed by a group of raiders. The family is captured, children and all, and Gibs and Alan are left behind with only some pistols, a handful of bullets between them, and no food or water to speak of.

I hope this series never ends, I could listen forever
Revisado: 06-30-23
Some folks comparing C5 to C6 in these reviews are lacking some context. A much needed break from the norm in C5 to offer a different perspective in the story line was essential. Of course, everyone’s entitled to their opinion and this is just mine, but for a series that was supposed to end at C4, C5 was the gift we didn’t even know we were going to get. C6 takes us back to the end of C4, and hopefully the loop back to C5 (which was brilliantly written btw), is to come (I hope). C6 felt like home in a lot of ways, and as always was executed with legendary detail. R.C. Bray is worth his weight in gold bringing this story to life as he does, and Joshua Gayou is my favorite writer of all time. Wherever he lays his hands to craft his art, magic is just over the horizon. True Commune fans have asked for this series to keep coming. Joshua keeps delivering. Genius is a process to trust, so I trust the process. I love this series so much, and appreciate every book and every detail as much as the last. Lovingly waiting for C7 🙏

It seems like the perfect job. Great wages, accommodation provided and all located within the walls of Highwood Hall, a stunning stately home owned by the Howard family. Not many little girls dream of becoming a maid, but this is an opportunity for me to get back on my feet. And for me to revisit my past....

The use of the word, Queer.
Revisado: 03-02-23
I loved the narration and the storyline, but the overuse of the word “queer” was pretty concerning. It’s said in this book at least 4,000 times, and I can’t fathom how after several edits someone didn’t say something. There are so many other adjectives that could have been used in its place. Everything else was good.

Historia
No electricity, no family, no connection to the outside world. For eight years, Cooper and his young daughter, Finch, have lived in isolation in a remote cabin in the northern Appalachian woods. And that's exactly the way Cooper wants it, because he's got a lot to hide. Finch has been raised on the books filling the cabin’s shelves and the beautiful but brutal code of life in the wilderness. But she’s starting to push back against the sheltered life Cooper has created for her - and he’s still haunted by the painful truth of what it took to get them there.

Historia
Books and Bug are polar opposites, despite their friendship. Rumors on the road speak of a hospital in Washing D.C. Leading a small group of survivors, including pregnant women, the two travel in earnest to provide the soon-to-be mothers a safe place to deliver. Bug–a natural, charismatic leader–refuses to leave anyone behind while Books–a pragmatic social outsider–wishes not to be responsible for the safety of others. Together, they're exactly what this group needs to survive. But DC isn't exactly the safe haven they hoped for.

All of the positive descriptive words here
Revisado: 10-14-22
I knew the story would have to expand in order to keep going. Those of us who are diehard Commune geeks expected as much because where can a story go without a new adventure? I love what’s building, here. I love the anticipation of what’s to come, and I love the sweet, unadulterated, legendary voice of RC Bray, as only he could deliver Commune so perfectly that we actually need a new word for whatever defines perfect, but better. Extraordinary work from Joshua Gayou as always, and Devon, welcome to the greatest!

Historia
In July of 1991, the country was shocked by the unfathomable crimes of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. But no one was more shocked than his parents. In A Father's Story, the listener becomes witness to the incremental unraveling of a parent's image of their child, and the "thousand different reactions" that follow. In his attempt to understand the nature of his son's psychosis, Lionel Dahmer methodically scrutinizes every possible contributing factor to his son's madness.

A gut wrenching, written internal dialogue
Revisado: 09-26-22
As a parent, it’s easy to sympathize with Lionel’s thoughts. Most of us, despite our children’s shortcomings wouldn’t be any different. Having said that, I feel no sympathy for Jeff. We’ll never know what made him who he was, all we know for sure is the pain he has caused so many others. The Dahmers were victims as well in their own right. He wasn’t raised this way he was born this way, and sadly I don’t believe Jeff ever had a chance. But like most Dietes, most parents offer a grace to their children they may not deserve out of love. My prayers go out to the Dahmers for what has to be such an excruciating existence, living in the shadows of the trauma Jeff caused, and prayers especially to his victims and their families living in an even darker shadow of this trauma.

Revisado: 09-14-22
As with everything Alaina puts her heart into, this story was absolutely fantastic. I consumed this book in less than 24 hours and enjoyed every moment of it! In fact I’ll likely read two or three more times just for the fun of it and to capture any details I may have missed along the way. Alaina you are incredibly talented and I am so proud of you!
