Historia
He’s one of my father’s guards at the castle. Goes by the name Mastodon. There’s something about him I don’t like. He takes me into a cavern, and we descend deep underground - to the Bottom of the Cliffs. When I leave for the Capital, Mastodon escorts me. And just as I feared, he kills my guards and captures me. Then he tells me why he’s doing this. Because my family took everything from him - and now he’s about to do the same.

I've been Cliffhanged
Revisado: 01-28-22
That ending. Once again, a book ends midway through booking. Shame on me, dear reader, because I'll definitely be downloading the next one. In the beginning, I didn't understand the review hype (I thought you all betrayed me). It was a graphic and disturbing start, then we got introduced to our girl, and she's annoying and selfish. The type you want bad things to happen to just so she'll grow some sense through experience. Thankfully, character development saved the day, and I grew to like her. This book is an odd combo of modern language (lots of swearing) in a medieval type society, which I initially found off putting, but eventually, I got used to. Next, it turned into sex all the time. Gratuitous, possibly to the point of boring. But fear not! In between sex scenes we have a great start to world building and some serious machinations. There are characters you love to hate and plot twists and turns that reeled me in. By the cruel ending, I was hooked.

At Last!
Revisado: 01-28-22
Another great addition to the series! This one ranked somewhere in the middle for me (Kereny was a little annoying at first), but it gets extra bonus points for including Lothaire and Ellie. We got some answers (I hope) about upcoming books and I'm happy Munro got his happy ending. Robert Petkoff continues to be amazing. I don't even want to know how many years I'll need to wait for the next one.

Not For Me
Revisado: 01-28-22
Oooh. Where to start, dear reader. I jumped into this series at book 2 thinking like most romance series I'd be just fine. Well the author kept eluding to the previous book over and over so I was a bit lost (not that the plotline was all that involved). I love a good marriage of convenience story, so I thought I'd give this a try, but I guess I should have paid attention to the "sassy" and "bossy" in the description. There are things one simply cannot unhear. I like a steamy read, but this wasn't to my taste. Unspeakable things happened involving an innocent piece of ginger. Where's the trigger warning for that!? Some secret BDSM sex club and spankings later, here we are. I won't even get into how irritating our naughty heroine was. The cherry on top of this dumpster fire was the narrator who did not improve the situation.

The one thing about growing up an orphan was that life sucked, but at least it was my kind of sucky. It was simple, ordinary, predictable. Until the night I woke up naked in a dark forest, surrounded by a trio of powerful shifters who plucked me from my miserable existence to tell me I'm some sort of supernatural monster.

Passed the Time
Revisado: 07-13-21
Ok so this wasn't the best or the worst. Our girl has serious mommy and daddy issues and at times was just mean. She was hard to like and by the end of it I was tired. The world building and overall plot was a little clunky. I found myself becoming disinterested the more I learned so I don't think I'll be continuing on.

Historia
When my brother gets into some serious trouble with the Vampire Clan of Baltimore, there’s only one thing I can do to save his ass. I decide to offer myself up as a blood tribute, infiltrate their underground palace, and find a way to get him out. But playing the part of a simpering blood bag is harder than I expected, especially when my first impulse is to put a stake through the heart of every vamp I meet. To make matters worse, I’ve somehow caught the eye of three dangerous vampire men.

Vampire Déjà Vu
Revisado: 06-30-21
Did I read this book already and forget or is it just that similar to other vampire books that I only think I did? In a good way and in a bad way, it's just that similar to other books in the genre. The twist here is that our girl is a vampire hunter, which turns out to be a little annoying. She thinks she can outsmart all the ancient vampires and is a bit too self righteous and arrogant (major I'm not like other girls type). Everyone is too weak to save themselves and she's the only one who can save them. That said, it was a fun book. You had mean girls, hot vampires, and a new vampire world to learn about. Depending on the character development, the next book will make or break the series for me.

Historia
Ten days ago, Jacob Knight waltzed back into my life and screwed it all up. Still, I helped him track the heir of a powerful werewolf family, and that was a win, but now I don’t know which way is up. My reality has shifted, pun intended. I’m not who I thought I was, and the changes are more than I can handle. As if that wasn’t enough, a new drug is ravaging my city, including the customers at my mate tracking agency. What gives? So as I try to come to terms with my new identity and I hide my new secret from the man I love, the world around me bursts into chaos.

Such Angst!
Revisado: 06-28-21
Ok. Let's be real for a minute. There are some major flaws to this series. What twenty one year old can go from homeless to buying a house in 18 months!? The timeline is whack. But if we look past that, I'm loving everything else. The chemistry between the characters is there and I like the mate tracker concept, the world building, and the pacing of the story. The romance is at a slow build angsty place, but we're getting character development so I'm being patient. When will the next book be on audible because I'm actually really impatient!

Historia
Decades ago, the High King of Sundolia waged a war that vanquished the Serpent clan and drove them out of the empire. But they did not leave peacefully. Their parting gift included curses that now rest within the empire's soil, growing more and more dormant as the years pass under the rule of that increasingly tyrannical high king. Until Alaya - a young woman with a hidden Serpent mark who shouldn't exist - accidentally wakes one of them up. Then another. She must seek the truth about her lost clan and the so-called curses they left behind. About her true home.

Saved by the Last Chapter
Revisado: 05-31-21
This was a SLOW story. I took a months long break just because I completely lost interest due to the pace. It starts off alright but then you just have to slog through the middle. All of the elements of intrigue are there but it some how lacks the urgency and tension required to hold a person's attention. I'm still a bit confused as to how/what her powers are but admittedly I spaced out quite a bit listening to this. After finally getting through to the end there's a bit of a cliffhanger and I'm far more tempted to move on to the next book than I would have thought.

Amara was content to live as a lone wolf, the only one of her kind - or so she'd thought. Her world was flipped on its head when a strange man with a familiar scent showed up at her work, demanding a private meeting. Desperate to find the mate Luc had scented from 400 miles away, he was shocked to find her living as a lone wolf. Amaroki women were to be cherished and protected. What had happened to her family? More importantly, how was he going to convince her to return to the reservation with him? And how would his possessive brothers react when they found him with Amara?

Disappointed
Revisado: 05-31-21
I saw a lot of positive reviews so I decided to give this one a chance. Unfortunately, I found the story to be boring and difficult to finish. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what made this story so bland (even during the action packed moments I was uninterested). I've read many similar books and this one was very generic and predictable. I didn't connect to the characters and our main girl was a bit annoying. I hate to say it, but maybe this story could have used an academy.

In a post-apocalyptic world where humanity is trying to survive, an alien species offers help - with a price tag attached. Cast back into the dark ages where women are assigned protectors, everything they fought for was destroyed with the arrival of the Andores. And then the Tizuns limped their vessel to Earth. Scary to look at, they kept to themselves.

Complete Story
Revisado: 05-02-21
I'm sort of torn about how I feel about this book. I listened to the whole thing though in one weekend (I was sick. Don't judge) and I didn't get bored (which is saying something given the length) , but also at the end I couldn't see myself listening to it again. The narration was pretty good - not a stand out but didn't take away from the story. One definite positive is that you get a full complete story. Here be no cliffhangers. Overall it's a good story - I just can't quite pin down why it isn't great.

I'm big mad
Revisado: 04-13-21
What did I just read?! I'm not sure if this was a romantic comedy or a horror story. Orphan girl finds lost family, gains a stalker(who I somehow like better than the main character), and joins the family war! It was a tough pill to swallow to have the main character quickly become a bigot. I wanted Andie to be taught a lesson(i.e. bad things to happen to her) so she'd actually learn and grow but instead she was improbably perfect at everything. I was rolling my eyes by the end. A strategic prodigy, a professional saxophone player that never practices, super attractive, need I say more? Everything was beyond frustrating by the end, but I still want to know what happens so I might go on to book 2 once I've calmed down. The reader is probably the only thing that got me through this upsetting story, but she also used the wrong voice for the wrong character quite a few times. Does anyone even do a listen though before publishing these? Rant over.
