I enjoy the performance of the VOA's.

The story hasn't done anything for me.

The MC constantly complaining and arguing is beyond annoying.

I have never met anyone like that in my life and if there are truly people out there like the MC...

I know I'd be rather harsh in my actions towards them.

Today's kids must be so angsty.

I will not be buying another if this is a series.

For me this is just too much of the childish behavior.

Pathological liar and ungrateful attitude.

The manic depressive mindset doesn't do well for the story as a whole.

Blaming everyone else for the MC's problems and trying to convince through lies.

Its not for people like me.

The story and performance is top notch.

Being blind, with extremely sensative ears...

The sibilance is way too harsh. Every "s" sound is like a sword in my ears twisting.

If need be, please de-ess a bit.

Otherwise,, for now I smother the device with materials that absorb much of the high frequencies just to enjoy the story.

For good references as to what good mixes sound like, three come to mind.

The movie, "eyes wide shut" and the video game "metal gear solid 4".

Or the youtube channel TBS NEWS.

All three are fantastic examples of sibilance control.

Now onto the story.

Yo! Who would have thought that would happen?

Can't wait for the next installment.

Kudos Travis.

After Carl, I can never imagine you as anything else but a crab.

What makes it all worse is the fact that DCC was a tease to what this genre is about.

And I loved the humor.

Thanks for the fun.

This story is only getting more interesting with every reveal.

Until next time.

Lets go!

Whats next for the wind master?

One more step closer to that.

Propaganda is extreme.

I enjoyed the first novel with all its flaws.

The title in question here, isn't as good but rather a bit better.

The only flaw I have with this is that EVERYONE keeps siding with the colonial force.

The supposed evil or bad guy in this isn't even bad to begin with.

He's a father trying to make a better future for his daughter.

Throughout the book we only see things from the propaganda point of view.

So much so that a prisoner of war is literally tortured several times to get him to comply.

And we are supposed to believe that its all for the betterment of the colonial force as well as the universe?

Or how about these special forces being enslaved so much so that they are unable to even go off course without their handlers coming down on their heads.

Meanwhile, the father is a man on a mission to save the universe. Single-handedly.

And he does such a good job that even the entire military of the colonial force isn't willing to attempt anything on him except through his own thought processes.

And that's where we land the story.

The character J is created just for one purpose.

To use the father against himself.

J has to be re-educated into the colonial force and through the propagandizing experience, J gains self reflection and self awareness.

Through the "enlightenment" that J has, he travels to the father to make the attempt with his team.

Yada yada.

The snooze fest of the "good guy" overcoming the "bad guy".

The daughter is extracted... excuse me, she is SAVED from the horrible father and monsters who took care of her while her father strategized on how to best take down the "good guys".

This reminds me a lot of old Westerns.

Indians being the "bad guy" for defending their lands and peoples from genocide and pollution.

Only for the "good guy" cowboys to come in and save the indian princesses from their evil tribes and turn the land into oil field extracting profitable money rich areas with no more indians.

Same here in this story.

Walk and talk like the enemy to understand the enemy so that the "good" can use the enemy thoughts and actions against them.

Its all disgusting.

That poor man just wanted to do right and he WAS.

But of course...

Not to a colonial person.

Such peoples shall NEVER see pass their own pride and hottie spirits.

Propaganda is strong in this novel.

The story is good. The performance is great.

I'm just old school. The ending disappointed me because it's a cliche thing at this point. How many storylines have something similar?

Now, unless Greg is able to flip that on its head to make a compelling reason for the happening which would lead circumstances into the plots of each book leading up to an epic showdown...

Sure.

I'm also disappointed as the formatting of woke cultural influences I guess. I'm tired of the constant propaganda being shoved down our throats.

I take after Evan from the beginning book but he's parted from my understanding and I can only imagine this being like an alternate universe where I do some similar things.

The only thing I found amusing is the humor.

I love the crazy detailed scenes.

I'm invested in how this will continue so I can only hope it travels down logical and responsible areas that Greg hasn't stumbled upon.

Keep up the good work.

Is this a satire?

What real man thinks like the main male lead?

How is a womanizer so insecure he can't seem to get his thoughts together around the main female lead?

His thoughts make him sound like a feminine woman not a masculine man.

Is this a satire?

I'm taking it as such because it's the only way it makes sense.

The dude gets with a chick who has a high body count.

She says, "Most men will jump at the opportunity."

No. Most men have common sense and don't want to be with a woman like that.

I kept saying, WALK AWAY and leave her to the streets!

She doesn't respect him so she can't love him. Otherwise she wouldn't be...

Made me want to vomit.

Performance was good besides the terrible MC.

Pandering into the grace

This particular storyline should have been polished a bit more.

A certain character develops practically overnight during their long visit. At the very end of their visit no less.

The problem I had with this book was that Strike was pandering too much. Even allowing one of the members to break professional policies way too many times. Just because she's "different".

Strike also is a bit more feminine in this book. Not really taking charge and seems more like a stand-in rather than a main character.

Robin is overtly masculine in this.

So I guess the author finally... been stabled along with the rest of the world with the whole "modern" mindset.

This series was good until this point.

Which leads me to the title of this review.

Pandering into the grave.

Idon't know. Maybe it's the beginning of the end for our beloved characters.

The modern day pander has gotten to another one before it turned great.

Hilarious

The author obviously doesn't pay any attention to what he writes.

It's funny when you pay close attention to the details of the subjects.

There is a lot of hypocrisy within. So much so, it's hilarious. Listening to him contradict himself so many times.

Also, the US didn't found itself on "Christian" values. When it is written in the Bible that establishing a city on iniquity and blood is a bad thing... I don't think "Christian" values are of that. The rape and murder of Indigenous peoples isn't a good start nor is it based on any values that Christ Jesus would endorse.

Gold, Rape, Murder, Complete destruction of Indigenous peoples...

Also, he says Hitler was a strong man. If anyone wants to follow in the footsteps of Cesar or Hitler or any of the tyrants this man puts in the "strong man" to look up to.

Yeah.

Not a real American thought.

Or maybe it is absolutely American to want to be like Hitler and Cesar and all the others.

I mean, the author pretty much praises China and Russia too in this.

Like I said. Hypocrisy in a box. Not "how to be a man" in a box like he hoped it would be but hey!

Hitler wasn't a bad guy. He was just a strong man.

Cesar wasn't a bad guy. He was just a strong man.

But America was established on lies, bloodshed, rape, theft and all kinds of unholy godless sins... but it was established and based on "Christian" values!

This is too funny.

It's good for a laugh, if you're the type who enjoys someone who stumbles all over the place trying to be too many things at once for everyone.

A man who was raised by a masculine mother decides to write a book on how to be a man. Who also constantly bitches about how unmanly his father is.

That's what the summary should be.

Don't believe the hype. Many have already written their reviews. This title panders to a dogma that isn't for everyone. The character doesn't develop and the added character is perverted. How is that not an issue with people? Also, the MC contradicts herself quite a lot. From surrendering to the police because its the police vs abducting a high profile teen just because a 16 year old thinks its appropriate or abandoning all parental authority just because said 16 year old thinks she knows what's best for the teen rather than her parents.

It's a cute attempt at LitRPG but the shot misses the mark with a lot of plot armor and convenient saves.

The first book was okay. I'm not going to read any further and toss this one up as a loss.
