Historia
Sam Hill always saw the world through different eyes. Born with red pupils, he was called “Devil Boy” or Sam “Hell” by his classmates; “God’s will” is what his mother called his ocular albinism. Her words were of little comfort, but Sam persevered. Sam believed it was God who sent Ernie Cantwell, the only African American kid in his class, to be the friend he so desperately needed. And that it was God’s idea for Mickie Kennedy to storm into Our Lady of Mercy like a tornado, uprooting every rule Sam had been taught about boys and girls. Forty years later, Sam, a small-town eye doctor, is no longer certain anything was by design.

This Book was an emotional roller coaster
Revisado: 09-03-22
I very much enjoyed this book and all of the feels. One moment your smiling, then crying, then convicted, then overcome with not knowing how to feel. The writer did a great job with stringing you along wanting to know more. Great book! Enjoyed it immensely. This book made me think.

Surviving the End: The Complete Series is a collection of three apocalyptic thrillers: Crumbling World, Fallen World, and New World. Even before becoming a husband and father, safety had been Shane McDonald’s priority for most of his 45 years. As a nuclear engineer, it’s his responsibility to keep the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant functioning at optimum levels to avoid what protesters fear most: a meltdown.

Narrator has a negative affect on the book
Revisado: 05-26-21
A northeastern accent telling a story in the south is distracting enough. However, when you add in a lisp and unusual pauses during the story it really makes it tough. The story itself is pretty good. I don’t think I’ll listen to another one by this reader though.

A reminder that among the pain is glory.

This was a lovely, feel good story that made you smile and sad one sentence after another. It did show both sides of situations and made you think. I loved the scripture and the sayings that the author used. Very enjoyable!

Good book narrator should be replaced
Revisado: 05-10-19
Voices by this narrator are labored, like he can’t catch his breath. Makes the words choppy at times and characters seem like a 70 year old with emphysema. Good story though.
