Historia
Isaac has never been what he seems. Rumor has it that gruff, brooding, and solitary man-of-mystery Isaac Sylvester is back in town, and the only thing folks in Green Valley know for certain is that this prodigal son’s motives are as elusive as he is. He’s been spotted loitering near the old Townsen farm, hanging around the Hill's homestead, and glaring menacingly from the edges of The Donner Lodge’s parking lot. What this hometown-hero-turned-criminal wants, no one knows. Nor can they stop talking about it. Hannah's last night as an exotic dancer might just be her most memorable.

Liked it
Revisado: 04-14-25
There were some crazy plot holes in this latest installment, but enjoyable nonetheless. I always enjoy Cletus cameos - he is such a fun character. The narration was perfection! Joy Nash and Chris Brinkley are my favorite narrators - I would listen to them narrate a grocery list!

If this really is the last we hear from Joe Hennessy, then this was a satisfying end to a wonderful series. Excellent narration by Bradford Hastings.

Historia
Years ago, Beth Lathrop and her sister Kate suffered what they thought would be the worst tragedy of their lives the night both the famous painting Moonlight and their mother were taken. The detective assigned to the case, Conor Reid, swore to protect the sisters from then on. Beth moved on, throwing herself fully into the art world, running the family gallery, and raising a beautiful daughter with her husband Pete. Kate, instead, retreated into herself and took to the skies as a pilot, always on the run.

Stupid soap opera
Revisado: 04-09-25
This was incredibly bad and I only stuck with it to find out who dunnit. The author did a good job keeping that to the end, but it was truly awful otherwise. The back and forth dribbling out the events in the basement - why?! The narration was fantastic - I'm just sorry the narrator got stuck with this piece of crap. Oh! And the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum was robbed in 1990, not 1920 as read by the narrator (Chapter 6).

Historia
Frederick Fife was born with an extra helping of kindness in his heart. If he borrowed your car, he’d return it washed with a full tank of gas. The problem is there’s nobody left in Fred’s life to borrow from. At eighty-two, he’s desperately lonely, broke, and on the brink of homelessness. But Fred’s luck changes when, in a bizarre case of mistaken identity, he takes the place of grumpy Bernard Greer at the local nursing home. Now he has warm meals in his belly and a roof over his head—as long as his poker face is in better shape than his prostate and that his look-alike never turns up.

Revisado: 03-27-25
This is a surprising little gem. It is full of sad and happy, despair and joy. The characters are richly colored, and the plot is fun and serendipitous and full of life. Fred is such a lovely character. The narration is absolutely pitch perfect.

Hated this so bad
Revisado: 03-25-25
The description made it sound like it was a thriller. It is not. It is nothing but a series of sexual encounters which is fine, but not what I was expecting based on the description. I kept waiting for something to actually happen, but after making it about a third of the way through, I had to quit. Couldn't take anymore. Dare I say it was one-dimensional and boring? Yes, I dare.

Very, very good!
Revisado: 03-25-25
So impressed with Mr Jackson's debut novel. It was absolutely fantastic, and I look forward to his next novel. The narration, by two of my favorites, was exceptional - except it was obvious they didn't speak Texican. Waxahachie is pronounced WOCKSahachie, people. Say it with me: WOCKSahachie!

Historia
Jane has high hopes her life is about to turn around. After years of living precariously, she, her painter husband, Lenny, and their two kids have landed a stint as house sitters in a friend’s luxurious home high in the hills above Los Angeles, a gig that coincides magically with Jane’s sabbatical. If she can just finish her latest novel, Nusu Nusu, the centuries-spanning epic Lenny refers to as her “mulatto War and Peace,” she’ll have tenure and some semblance of stability and success within her grasp. But things don’t work out quite as hoped.

Revisado: 03-16-25
This was a very difficult read/listen. I actually experienced anxiety as the tale kept unwinding. And when it came to a vanilla end, I was actually relieved even though the ending was not particularly satisfying. The narrator was excellent.
