Historia
Between 1861 and 1865, the clash of the greatest armies the Western hemisphere had ever seen turned small towns, little-known streams, and obscure meadows in the American countryside into names we will always remember. In those great battles, those streams ran red with blood-and the United States was truly born.

Historia
There are few moments in American history in which the course of events tipped so suddenly and so dramatically as at the Battle of Midway. At dawn of June 4, 1942, a rampaging Japanese navy ruled the Pacific. By sunset, their vaunted carrier force (the Kido Butai) had been sunk and their grip on the Pacific had been loosened forever. In this absolutely riveting account of a key moment in the history of World War II, one of America's leading naval historians, Craig L. Symonds, paints an unforgettable portrait of ingenuity, courage, and sacrifice.

The date is 1966 of the Galactic Era, almost three thousand years from now, and the Republic, created by the human race - but not yet dominated by it - finds itself in an all-out war. They stand against the Teroni Federation, an alliance of races that resent Man's growing military and economic power. The main battles are taking place in the Spiral Arm and toward the Core. But far out on the Rim, the Theodore Roosevelt is one of three ships charged with protecting the Phoenix Cluster.

Starship: Nowhere
Revisado: 05-06-14
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I tried listening to it twice and bought the sequal. I can't say I really understood why I did that, I hoped for a good starship pirate story but didn't get it. It sounded so promising though.
What was most disappointing about Mike Resnick’s story?
Inconsistencies in the story, clearly unbelievable jumps in logic and a lack of focus on what actually was happening.
Which scene was your favorite?
No real favorite, it was all rather bland.
Was Starship worth the listening time?
After carefull consideration I can't recommend it.
Any additional comments?
I listen to many sci fi stories and while ofcourse you can't always understand the choices people make this universe seems made up especially to show just how great the main character is while his "deductions are half guess and half wrong half the time". That is fun when Jack Vance writes a story but not in a story that takes his character so serious.

Historia
Here is the novel that will be forever considered a triumph of the imagination. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

Dune as it should be
Revisado: 01-28-14
Would you consider the audio edition of Dune to be better than the print version?
This audio version actually does create an interesting athmosphere for listening. You will be absorbed by the story and the ones who tell it.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Duke Leto.
What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
They are superb actors who really bring this story to life.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Dune, Arrakis, desert planet.
Any additional comments?
It is really an audioplay, not a audiobook. Its a great listen of a great story and I loved every minute of it, moreso because of the athmosphere created by sound and voice from the very start.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, any one who enjoy's militairy SCI-FI would like this.
What other book might you compare Guardian to and why?
The honor series comes to mind. But as militairy SCI-FI it stands on its own with having respect for relatif distances, speed of light, etc.
Have you listened to any of Christian Rummel’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Christian Rummel always sounds good and proffesional he is one of my favorite performers.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Would you try another book from The History Channel and/or the narrator?
Yes
Would you be willing to try another one of the narrator’s performances?
Yes
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Yes
Any additional comments?
light history for a light price.
The break for non existent commercials is very annoying and could have easily been cut out making for smaller download, a compacter format and shorter listening time.

Historia
Setting down his thoughts on swordplay, on winning, and on spirituality, legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi intended this modest work as a guide for his immediate disciples and future generations of samurai. He had little idea he was penning a masterpiece that would be eagerly devoured by people in all walks of life centuries after his death.

The way of all things.
Revisado: 02-13-12
If you could sum up The Book of Five Rings in three words, what would they be?
Exactly as hoped.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Book of Five Rings?
The introduction of the book by the original author, Musashi.
Have you listened to any of Scott Brick’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
no idea
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I listened to it 5 times allready, I am sure I will do so again.
Any additional comments?
A marvelous book that I without a doubt will also buy in print. The performance of Scot Brick was excellent, clearly understandable and with good pronouncement, at least as far as I understand it (I do not speak japanese).
