This goes absolutely nowhere
Revisado: 09-17-22
Don’t waste your time. This goes nowhere. After listening, I know nothing about any of the characters. There is zero character development. I’m not even sure what the point was. Nothing about the day-to-day of fat camp. Just a girl experiencing and struggling to solve two “mysteries” that are so dumb. Neither adds anything to the story. What a missed opportunity. I can’t believe I finished.

Historia
The Goldfinch is a haunted odyssey through present-day America and a drama of enthralling force and acuity. It begins with a boy. Theo Decker, a 13-year-old New Yorker, miraculously survives an accident that kills his mother. Abandoned by his father, Theo is taken in by the family of a wealthy friend. Bewildered by his strange new home on Park Avenue, disturbed by schoolmates who don't know how to talk to him, and tormented above all by his unbearable longing for his mother, he clings to one thing that reminds him of her: a small, mysteriously captivating painting that ultimately draws Theo into the underworld of art.

Best narration I have ever heard
Revisado: 09-01-22
After I downloaded the book and realized it was 32 hours, I groaned. Then I contemplated returning it, then I pushed Play and have “read” the best book I’ve read in at least ten years. The story is excellent — very unique — and the characters are brilliant. They are all so real. The narration is nothing short of outstanding. This book has it all. Grand slam home run for Donna Tartt

Disappointed in the ending
Revisado: 08-12-22
Yet another “thriller” that is far-fetched and makes no sense. I will admit the buildup is really good, but when the explanation comes, you feel duped. I keep getting roped in but then feel let down.

Not what I had hoped
Revisado: 07-18-22
Pretty disappointing. The description sounded really interesting, but so much more could have been accomplished with the characters. Rather than stay in the present, there’s so much history being told and it really doesn’t add anything to the point of the book. Just so-so, but you honestly won’t miss anything if you skip it

Historia
In A Royal Duty, Paul Burrell reveals the truth about Princess Diana, as well as a faithful account of her thoughts. He was the favourite footman who formed a unique relationship with the Queen. He was the Princess' most intimate confidant.

Revisado: 05-14-22
If you are a DIANA fan, this book is a must. An honest account of a flawed human being but perfect Princess from someone who was by her side every day for ten years. Nothing salacious or nasty in this account. Paul’s story is told with the dignity, respect, and love our beloved Princess of Wales deserves.

Historia
Merritt Coletto and her husband, Luca, have the life they dreamed of: a coastal home, a promising future, and a growing family. That dream ends with a late-night knock on the door. Weak, broken, and emaciated, it’s Luca’s first wife, Lydia. Missing for ten years, presumed dead, and very much alive, she has quite a story. Racked with guilt over the beautiful life they’ve built, Merritt and Luca agree to help get Lydia back on her feet - it’s the least they can do. But the more enmeshed Lydia becomes in Merritt’s family, the more questions Merritt has.

Reads like a cheesy Lifetime Movie
Revisado: 03-11-22
This story is pretty silly. To say it is far-fetched is not a stretch. It really was like a made for TV movie. The narration isn’t good either. The women reading these parts are way to mature to read for these young women. It was actually distracting. The one character who is 41 had the thoughts and speech patterns of a 1950s housewife, yet she was supposedly so glamorous and worldly. Disappointing for sure.

Historia
Growing up, Jenny Pentland’s life was a literal sitcom. Many of the storylines for her mother’s smash hit series, Roseanne, were drawn from Pentland’s early family life in working-class Denver. But that was only the beginning of the drama. Roseanne Barr’s success as a comedian catapulted the family from the Rockies to star-studded Hollywood—with its toxic culture of money, celebrity, and prying tabloids that was destabilizing for a child in grade school.

Spoiled, entitled Royals
Revisado: 10-04-20
The author wants you to believe he did not have Harry and Meghan’s help, consent, input on this book. BS. Somehow they were involved, even if telling someone intimate details and then allowing them to talk to the authors. If you can stomach reading how “amazing” Meghan is on nearly every page, read it. If you’ve had enough of these two, skip it. They are so far removed from reality it’s ridiculous, and this book only confirms that fact
