Historia
People travel from afar to a small isle in the Aegean Sea hoping for a single glimpse of Princess Psyche. Their adoration for the mortal woman is so all-consuming that citizens begin to shower her with the very gifts and offerings they once left at the altar of Venus, goddess of love and beauty. But gods are known for their jealousy.

Great book, edit errors in Chap 45
Revisado: 11-26-20
I really enjoyed this book, except that Chapter 45 is really messed up with errors in the recording. The editing "alts" weren't clipped right, and are still in there. It's hugely distracting and really problematic considering THIS IS THE FINAL CHAPTER OF THE BOOK. Way to kill what would otherwise been higher stars.
The narrator is otherwise, quite brilliant. I don't know what happened in the editing/production part, but really, it ruined an otherwise lovely experience.

Historia
When wilderness guide Harper Ward is summoned to the small town sheriff's office in Helena Springs, Montana, to provide assistance on a case, she is shocked to find that their only suspect in the double murder investigation is a man described as a savage. But the longer she watches the man known only as Lucas, on the station surveillance camera, the more intrigued she becomes. He certainly looks primitive with his unkempt appearance and animal skin attire, but she also sees intelligence in his eyes, sensitivity in his expression. Who is he?

New Favorite Author
Revisado: 06-04-20
This is easily one of the best romance, suspense, murder mystery, amazing book I have read in a very long time. I was so pleasantly surprised by the quality of writing, the twists that I did not anticipate, and the beautiful narration. I'm off to read everything else by Mia Sheridan.

You have the right to remain sexy. Anything you say can and will be used to get you in my bed. You have the right to use my body to give yourself a delirious, life-changing orgasm. If you have trouble...don't worry, I'm a bit of an expert in that department.

Great Narration & Writing, Difficult Heroine
Revisado: 03-10-20
So let me start by saying that I love both these authors. I love their writing, the EXTREMELY hot scenes, the emotion and all that. These authors are also particularly good at assuring enthusiastic consent in their scenes, which makes the hero and the scenes themselves that much hotter. And the narrators are both so good. Jacob Morgan is probably my all-time favorite narrator. So, yes, I would recommend this book overall.
But let's talk about the characters. The hero, Chase, seems well crafted, real. He's a good guy, a hot guy, a little too cocky and domineering for my tastes but whatever. He is not the problem. Liv, Liv is the problem. She's incredibly difficult to connect to as a heroine. She is baby-crazy, which is not a thing I empathize with and something that I find a little too overdone in romance novels as a whole, but I got over that. That's her thing. She wants a baby. Cool.
The real problem is that the heroine needs actual therapy, some counseling, some anxiety meds. She is irrationally terrified of her own demise, of everyone's demise. She has serious issues with mortality, which is a big reason she's baby-crazy (which is its own issue, but whatever). Girl raises so many red flags on the mental health scale, I just kept wondering why Chase is tolerating any of this. She must have a magic vagina. Whatever.
I think it woud've helped if the authors had given proper motivation for Liv's issues. Was she scarred by a past death? She mentions break-ups repeatedly, but no details are ever given. Chase, as a cop, is far more likely to have issues, and the issues he does have were SO BELIEVEABLE. But the heroine needs better motivation and proper medical attention by mental health professionals. The hero's great sex and constant comfort are great balms but are not gonna fix this lady's problems alone.
Outside of the believability issues with Liv, I quite enjoyed it. I'll keep reading both authors, and will keep listening to both narrators for sure. And if you just want to hear some really hot scenes, 10/10 would recommend just those chapters LOL.

Historia
Garrett Daniels has this whole life thing figured out. The cocky, charismatic former high school star quarterback is an idolized football coach and "cool" teacher in the hometown where he's not just a golden boy - he's platinum. He has good friends, a great house on the lake, and the best damn sidekick a man could ask for: Snoopy, the albino beagle. Then...Callie Carpenter comes home.

Great Romance & Male Narrator!
Revisado: 01-14-19
This is my first book by Emma Chase and my first experience with either narrator. I loved it all! The story made me laugh, cry, and swoon. The romance is equal parts sweet and smoking hot. And speaking of hot, the male narrator's voice is just phenomenal. I am definitely a new fan of both Chase's work and anything Webber decides to narrate. Really fun book. Already bought a copy for my friend. :)
