I read somewhere that this was “top shelf” alien romance and I have to agree! What is often lacking in a lot of alien romance is world building and character development. Often times in RH I am left wondering what is so great about the woman to attract multiple men. This series delivers on all points. Also, the male narrator brought the love and delight of the male characters to life! This is a super spicy, movie-quality alien romance. Well done!

Another great series!

Well I wish I would’ve realized there is a 4th book before I started because now I’m ending on a cliff hanger… oh well.

As always, I love the performances by the male narrators. The females were great, just not what I imagined for a 21 year old but not overly distracting from the story. The only thing that kept pulling me out was the over abundance of focus on so many characters communicating with their looks and eye etc. I think if it was just Novak that would’ve made sense but it was a lot.

Outside of that, all I can say about this story is .. holy mind-f**kery! I am impressed with the mental gymnastics this book had be going through. Loved it.

Horrifically Hilarious

I feel like this books has so much positive feedback but I just have to add mine:

I’m trying to be careful so I don’t give anything away. I rarely find a book or movie that surprises me like this book did. I don’t know if it’s because I was so caught up in the relationship between the characters or what but I didn’t see things going the way they did and I loved it. The romance was really quite sweet and adorable and the humor was delightfully dark. Add in the unique plot and the incredible narration…. Just wow.

I wish I could travel back in time and experience this book for the first time all over again.

Hilarious and Heartbreaking

I am a huge fan of both Lily Morton and Joel Leslie. This author has a talent for writing the best sassy and sweet characters and stories and the narrator has as unique ability to perform these characters spectacularly. The two are a match made in audio book heaven.

This story was the first one that had me laughing out loud one minute and sobbing the next. It may have something to do with the book being exclusively from Dylan’s POV (except for the email exchanges lol) as well as the story itself but… wow… I was ready for Dylan and Gabe to split for good in some spots. I do think Gabe’s treatment of Dylan was not my favorite but this is a fictional book and honestly, it made his character feel more real and the story more emotional for me. This made the book difficult for me to get through at times but it was well worth the credit IMO.

I loved this story and character growth!

I loved the characters and the author’s take on the demon lore. It’s also good if there is a broken little piece in you that sighs at the depiction of a person loving another through trauma. I am a die-hard Joel Leslie fan and purchased this book on the premise and narrator alone and that is what got me through it. The other narrator, however, is what is keeping me from continuing through the series. It might just be my take but Dan came off both monotone and rushed. He also has a habit of ending a lot of his sentences in a weird lilt that almost sounds like each one is a question. But if you can get past the second narrator, I highly recommend!

David gets a HEA!

I loved this entire series and am moving on to the dragon series. As with the previous books, this one reveals the back story of the main CSG member and this time it’s David. I really like how we find out what drives him to be how he is and to see him both loosen up (ish) while his friends love and celebrate him in his very particular ways.

Book 3 was my fave but really how could I not literally LOL while following the inner monologue of that goofy hellhound?

Overall I love this series and after just finishing I am considering revisiting some of the content. I have never listened to any book more than once and to me this is a testament to how much I enjoy the writing/narration pairing.

If you like clever and silly banter, a bit of suspense and light action with a sprinkle of spicy romance brought together in a creative alternative twist on paranormal lore, you should try this series. Especially if you enjoy accents and humor brought to perfection by Joel Leslie.

Did Masters and Leslie collaborate on this because it is all too perfect to be a coincidence.

I have listened to 4 books in the CSG universe, all narrated by Joel Leslie, and all out of order lol and I can say the story telling and narration are consistently great. This is the kind of story and banter that Joel seems to excel at.

There is some great spice but it isn’t the sole focus. The plots are well thought out and the characters are developed enough to make them engaging. I am absolutely in love with all of the CSG crew and I can’t stop consuming all of the LM/JL books.

Beautiful Love Story

I absolutely loved the journey of these two men. The writing is amazing, the love is sweet and the story is unique. Narrator did an awesome job and I can’t wait to hear more from this author!

Charming

This was my first same-sex romance and let me just say, it was so charming and sweet I couldn’t stop listening. The narrators were perfectly executed for the characters and I can’t wait for the next book!
