Historia
After being rescued as infants from a sinking ocean liner in 1914, Marian and Jamie Graves are raised by their dissolute uncle in Missoula, Montana. There—after encountering a pair of barnstorming pilots passing through town in beat-up biplanes—Marian commences her lifelong love affair with flight. At fourteen she drops out of school and finds an unexpected and dangerous patron in a wealthy bootlegger who provides a plane and subsidizes her lessons, an arrangement that will haunt her for the rest of her life, even as it allows her to fulfill her destiny: circumnavigating the globe.

I listen as I Walk I found myself laughing out loud and then wondering if people thought I was a little off. Aside from the CM which was uncomfortable I hated see it end.

Historia
In Scoop, surreptitiously dubbed "a newspaper adventure", Waugh flays Fleet Street and the social pastimes of its war correspondants as he tells how William Boot became the star of British super-journalism and how, leaving part of his shirt in the claws of the lovely Katchen, he returned from Ishmaelia to London as the "Daily's Beast's" more accoladed overseas reporter.

There were some great moments but I am sure I missed ones that were more topical for its' time. But all in all it was enjoyable. The narrator did a fine job.

Fantastic story. I was sorry to see it end. Mr Towles has a way with words that creates the feeling of you being in Moscow with the Count. Narrated to perfection. Mr Smith deserves an award for his work.

Ms LaVoy was amazing. It was hard to put this book down. She made you feel as if she was with you telling the story. And the time in Spain seem to put you right in the middle of the action. Just an all around fine story.

Historia
Our current climate of partisan fury is not new, and in The Soul of America Meacham shows us how what Abraham Lincoln called the “better angels of our nature” have repeatedly won the day. Painting surprising portraits of Lincoln and other presidents, including Ulysses S. Grant, Theodore Roosevelt, and LBJ, and illuminating the courage of influential citizen activists and civil rights pioneers, Meacham brings vividly to life turning points in American history. Each of these dramatic hours have been shaped by the contest to lead the country to look forward rather than back.

A Must Read
Revisado: 11-20-18
This is a must read for all those newly elected Reps and Senators. A must read for all of us. Well told. Details of some well known events in our nations history that will surprise. They say history repeats itself. This book in its telling proves the point. A book that certainly deserves a second listen.
One quibble. There aren't 90 some chapters just a small number of long ones. Not sure why it was presented in that manner.

Very interesting music history. A bit of a downer towards the end with the obits. But overall she did a good job describing her musical life with some honest and direct opinions about the people she met along the way.
