I really liked this story it is a great addition to the Rachel Caine collection. I have read her first three books and cannot wait to read her next! I have been listening on Audible. The voices are great.

Gold or Something Else

I enjoyed reading/hearing this book. The narrator made the transitions from character to character without missing a beat. Although much of the story was fiction but derived from the true Donner Party history, it was all fit together seamlessly. I have read the ebook and have listened to it on audio and find it to be very interesting.

Great story within a story. I enjoyed reading this story about Troy and the troubles he gets tangled into and yet each story seems to work itself out. Read this mystery novel to find what Troy has gotten himself into now.

This second book is full of action and suspension. A great story and leaves this listener waiting for the final end to know the rest of the story of Mathias.

Is revenge the answer?

Mathias witnessed the murder of his family and the destruction of his town. He prepares to be capable to get his revenge and meets others along his journey to seek out the Emperor to kill him. A war is raging and both side are no sure as to the outcome. The narrator brings Mathias' story to life. I can't wait to hear the continuation of Mathias story.

I am sorry. I am not the right person to review this audio book as I suffer from ADD and a slight case of aphantasia. By hearing a story read it is some what easier for me to visualize the setting. But this time I found the vernacular of the narrator confusing and I found it hard to determine what was going on . I did listen through chapter 10 and had to stop. I will read the book on my kindle and give my honest opinion then.

Why did the female killer write a number on the victims? This book kept me up late at night trying to figure out what exactly was the reasoning behind the killings. I look forward to the next book in the series.

what the f@#k!!!

This book drops the f@#k bombs so many time that if you cut it out of the story you would lose at least 1/2 of the story. Then if you cut all the other curse words you would lose 1/3 of the book. And it seems Marcus Fox can't die he just begins a new adventure. I tried to listen to what was happening but between the f@#k bombs and things repeated in threes constantly I had to delete this book (actually my Audible book) from my collection.

The third book of this trilogy answers a lot of questions. I would not have guessed the way things come about. Yet it is satisfying end. I cared about the main characters and the plot made me listen more, eager to learn more of what was happening .

a plane crash, survivors and suspicion all fill this story as survivors try to stay alive in the Polar Vortex. I had to keep reading and listening to find out who would survive. Great story!
