Historia
With the retirement of Justice Anthony Kennedy, the Court has never before been more central in American life. It is the nine justices who too often now decide the controversial issues of our time—from abortion and same-sex marriage, to gun control, campaign finance and voting rights.

Nice driving listen
Revisado: 11-23-18
For supreme court aficionados This is excellent listening material. However the authors attempt to Criticize the gay rights rulings along with the other bad rulings Seamlessly then ends by criticizing the dissents. It’s a comprehensive review oh justices going back till Warren Burger in varying capacities with concentrations on the most recent decades.

Historia
Though Anderson Cooper has always considered himself close to his mother, his intensely busy career as a journalist for CNN and CBS affords him little time to spend with her. After she suffers a brief but serious illness at the age of ninety-one, they resolve to change their relationship by beginning a yearlong conversation unlike any they have ever had before. The result is a correspondence of surprising honesty and depth in which they discuss their lives, the things that matter to them, and what they still want to learn about each other.

Well polished emails reveal a relationship based in self-pity and narcissism
Revisado: 08-30-16
These two famous characters are portrayed nicely in an HBO documentary, but if you Watch the show and listen to these emails together you can understand why Anderson Cooper is such a strange person in person – as opposed to TV – and why Gloria Vanderbilt also seems nice on TV, but would be comfortable stating fact that one of her sons from one of her husbands stopped talking to her, and she had no visible reaction to that – at least not on the show where it was discussed. This is an interesting idea for a book, and perhaps since I had to stop listening three quarters of the way through, perhaps I forfeit my right to submit this review. I recommend the documentary however.

Historia
An examination of the initial years of the Roberts Court and the intellectual battle between Roberts and Kagan for leadership. When John Roberts was appointed chief justice of the Supreme Court, he said he would act as an umpire. Instead, his Court is reshaping legal precedent through decisions unmistakably - though not always predictably - determined by politics as much as by law, on a Court almost perfectly politically divided.

Fascinating story and apt summaries
Revisado: 12-25-15
I really enjoyed listening to this book. I knew most of the cases, but not the slant in the decisions, which was illuminating. His reference to the future "Kagan Court" was inspiring and gave me a chill; we will see what happens after the next election.
