Meh, Not an enjoyable experience

This book was so hard to listen to. I kept attempting to push since I downloaded it ages ago. It took days as I was listening in 15 minute increments. I gave up at three hours. This is just not for me.

The story was not that held my interest. It seems to drag on a bit when the idea can to told much shorter. I could be wrong as I did not finish the entire story. I have read Gregory Maguire books in the past and enjoyed them but this one… I couldn’t get into it.

It took a bit for me to get into it. I thought it was going along a different path. I was pleasantly rewarded. The way the main character interacts with other people and situations that come his way is refreshing.

This book really touched me. The truth is in the how much the Wormbrands were willing to go through. Nobody does that for a flippant belief.

I love the storytelling by the author and ability of the narrator to bring it to life. Their combination marry very well together.

This was good

I was initially upset to learn the ending, as revealed by some of the characters in the beginning of the book. So I was constantly trying to figure out exactly how that was to be accomplished. I knew the author had a habit of putting the main character in impossible situations just to make the reader skirm. Then there would be a way out.
I figured this would be the same way...no such luck. I was satisfied with the outcome though. Once again, excellent storytelling and narration. it is just as important what you dont say as what you do.

Another hit

In this book the author brings in another character that gets me emotionally charged, Sabine. I hate her rudeness, I love her honesty. I hate for forwardness, I love her tenacity.

This new character acts as a catalyst for some of the new sides of Kaylee we see. That's what I like about her most. Both of these girls are stubborn and believe that they are right no matter what anyone else says. But sometimes you learn more about yourself from your enemies than your friends. I think Sabine reveals another layer to Kaylee, Nash, and Tod.
Alec's role I think is show us how a family is with his relationshipmwith the characters.
In thia midst of this Kaylee still battles evil.

Just when the main character is being to get settled into her new life and learning to use her talents she is put to test in the most extreme way. I felt like someome taught her one or two basic algebra lessonsmand then put her into a room and said okay solve these problems or the bomb goes off.

I thimk that the main character tries to take too much onto herself in order to help others. She doesn't know her limits though, or the abilities of those around her.

The fact that I could argue with this character impresses me. That means I see her an actual rounded person, for which I give credit to the author. Good job at bringing Kaylee to life.

I enjoyed meeting the characters in this story. The main character discovers new things about herself and her world causing her to get more comfortable with herself. She learns that some of things that she thought were weaknesses were actually abilities that she had not mastered yet.

She becomes more sure of herself at the end. The support characters help the balance out the story and reflect the world around her.

Great series

I love the universe of this series. I enjoyed the way the reader protrayed the characters as well as the author.

This book shows growth in the main character from the first two books. By the end of the book she is better standing up for herself and very comfortable in her abilities.

The author takes you through a more extensive emotional journey than in the previous two books though.
