The Noises I was Making
Revisado: 08-28-24
This is the first book, in a long time, that I was very audible about. The shock of so many things. This is a must-read!

Viv has an Angel
Revisado: 06-25-24
I liked the cleverness in story. I absolutely loved all of the characters!
The only thing that went over my head was all of the liquor and food.
All in all I enjoyed it from beginning to the end. Especially how the author made it easy for me to know who actually killed Viv.

Way Better than the movie
Revisado: 11-25-23
After all these years of watching the movie, it was time to get the whole story. If it's a good book, it will be a movie. The books are far superior.

Historia
In America, we teach that strength means holding back tears and shaming your own feelings. In the Black community, these pressures are especially poignant. Poor mental health outcomes-- including diagnoses of depression and anxiety, reliance on prescription drugs, and suicide–have skyrocketed in the past decade. In this book, actor Courtney B. Vance seeks to change this trajectory. Along with professional expertise from famed psychologist Dr. Robin L. Smith, Courtney B. Vance explores issues of grief, relationships, identity, and race through the telling of his own most formative experiences

Winderful
Revisado: 11-11-23
I am a woman who has an invisible ache. Although it addresses men, I to have experienced what is talked about in this book.
“To deal with loss, there are certain things you have to let go… Like judging the person who is gone or yourself for not doing something different when they were here. When you judge, you become angry. When you judge, you can't explore, examine, or learn from. You cast blame or feel superior. You carry that negative energy like a bag of boulders on your back and it weighs down your entire existence.”

Dreadful
Revisado: 07-18-22
I could not even finish this one. This book is like a swirl that did not have to happen. 11 chapters and the whining from Ana is just too much. This is why children should not get married. She behaves as a child and ughh. I’m just disgusted in this book.
