Sam and Sadie—two college friends, often in love, but never lovers—become creative partners in a dazzling and intricately imagined world of video game design, where success brings them fame, joy, tragedy, duplicity, and, ultimately, a kind of immortality. It is a love story, but not one you have heard before.

Historia
In this fascinating narrative, therapist Catherine Gildiner presents five of what she calls her most heroic and memorable patients. Among them: A successful, first-generation Chinese immigrant musician suffering sexual dysfunction; a young woman whose father abandoned her at age nine with her younger siblings in an isolated cottage in the depth of winter; and a glamorous workaholic whose narcissistic, negligent mother greeted her each morning of her childhood with "Good morning, Monster". Each patient presents a mystery, one that will only be unpacked over years.

Historia
Great ideas often come from a simple spark: A soccer player on the New Zealand national team notices all the unused wool his country produces and figures out a way to turn them into shoes (Allbirds). A former Buddhist monk decides the very best way to spread his mindfulness teachings is by launching an app (Headspace). A sandwich cart vendor finds a way to reuse leftover pita bread and turns it into a multimillion-dollar business (Stacy’s Pita Chips).

Love the podcast, the book, the man
Revisado: 06-12-21
I am absolutely in love with the man, the podcast, and all the excellent entrepreneurs. When you are mainly surrounded by people who think in terms of “must be nice,” you stand out as an oddity for defending highly successful people for grinding and never giving up. Guy's podcast makes me feel less alone in my thought that we all as humanity can accomplish anything and everything. And now with the book I just go to the chapter I need for the day’s inspiration and continue my journey to KICKING ASS!
Great job, Guy Raz and NPR team, you all KICK ASS!

Historia
Hi! I’m Seth! I was asked to describe my audiobook, Yearbook for websites and shit like that, so...here it goes!!! Yearbook is a collection of true stories that I desperately hope are just funny at worst, and life-changingly amazing at best. (I understand that it’s likely the former, which is a fancy “book” way of saying “the first one.”) I talk about my grandparents, doing stand-up comedy as a teenager, bar mitzvahs, and Jewish summer camp, and tell way more stories about doing drugs than my mother would like.

How to write a non-egotistical autobiography
Revisado: 05-20-21
This was a fun audio book. Obviously we all know Seth to be a celebrity and successful however the book is written with such humility and humor it was fun to listen to. It was a mini-adventurous book with brief insights into the world of entertainment which ultimately makes you ask (with love) what is wrong with you Seth?
Wish you all the best, Seth.

Historia
On the outside, Terri Cheney was a highly successful, attractive Beverly Hills entertainment lawyer. But behind her seemingly flawless facade lay a dangerous secret - for the better part of her life, Cheney had been battling debilitating bipolar disorder and concealing a pharmacy's worth of prescriptions meant to stabilize her moods and make her "normal". In bursts of prose that mirror the devastating highs and extreme lows of her illness, Cheney describes her roller-coaster life with shocking honesty.

Feelings of kindness and pain
Revisado: 11-13-20
As I read this I could not help but feel well at peace knowing that someone out there has felt similar pain. Mental health has been treated as a disease of the rich and not a true illness. As an immigrant , pulled yourself up by the straps is truly what you are supposed to do and there is no reason or excuse for not doing it. Your thoughts and emotions and no room for what needs to get done. While listening to the book, I could not help think of how many more things I could accomplish if I had kept my random emotions in check. Thank you for this book and for giving the mentally ill a voice. hope things will work out.

Historia
The old psychological models that focused on past hurts and traumatic memories have given way to exciting new breakthroughs, like Dr. Martin Seligman's work on post-traumatic strength and Dr. George Pransky's work on human beings' innate resilience and well-being. No more fixating on psychic wounds that occurred in childhood. Chandler's new revision looks at the work of both of those pioneers and makes optimism available to people who never believed they could reinvent their old ways of being.

Simple yet informative
Revisado: 10-20-20
I have been thru a lot of struggles in my life but all along I knew i would be fine and i have bounced back stronger than before. The last four years have been a struggle and the longer I try to keep status quo the more I don’t recognize myself. And that is how I found this book. It is very insightful but not complicated in showing what changes need to make to be become the person we envision.
The narrator did a great job as well. Calm but not boring. The knowledge in the book along with the narrator’s voice made it a pleasant experience and I can’t wait to put it into effect.

Historia
One of Charles Bukowski's best, this beer-soaked, deliciously degenerate novel follows the wanderings of aspiring writer Henry Chinaski across World War II-era America. Deferred from military service, Chinaski travels from city to city, moving listlessly from one odd job to another, always needing money but never badly enough to keep a job. His day-to-day existence spirals into an endless litany of pathetic whores, sordid rooms, dreary embraces, and drunken brawls, as he makes his bitter, brilliant way from one drink to the next.

Historia
The Goldfinch is a haunted odyssey through present-day America and a drama of enthralling force and acuity. It begins with a boy. Theo Decker, a 13-year-old New Yorker, miraculously survives an accident that kills his mother. Abandoned by his father, Theo is taken in by the family of a wealthy friend. Bewildered by his strange new home on Park Avenue, disturbed by schoolmates who don't know how to talk to him, and tormented above all by his unbearable longing for his mother, he clings to one thing that reminds him of her: a small, mysteriously captivating painting that ultimately draws Theo into the underworld of art.
