Historia
Jodi and Todd are at a bad place in their marriage. Much is at stake, including the affluent life they lead in their beautiful waterfront condo in Chicago, as she, the killer, and he, the victim, rush haplessly toward the main event. He is a committed cheater. She lives and breathes denial. He exists in dual worlds. She likes to settle scores. He decides to play for keeps. She has nothing left to lose. Told in alternating voices, The Silent Wife is about a marriage in the throes of dissolution, a couple headed for catastrophe, concessions that can’t be made, and promises that won’t be kept.

Meh
Revisado: 02-26-25
It was ok. Towards the end it got a bit boring and I tuned out. So really don’t know what happens. The story overall was a 3.

Historia
As the only African-American soloist dancing with the prestigious American Ballet Theatre, Misty Copeland has made history. But when she first placed her hands on the barre at an after-school community center, no one expected the undersized, anxious 13-year-old to become a groundbreaking ballerina. Life in Motion is a story of passion and grace for anyone who has dared to dream of a different life.

Great story, narrator kind of ruined it
Revisado: 12-06-24
I love Misty and loved hearing her story. I’m definitely going to pick up a copy and reread it myself. The narrator really wasn’t that great. Mainly when she said the word artistic. It came out more as “autistic.” The narrator just wasn’t that great, but the story was moving and eye opening to rhetorical world of ballet.

Except that these secrets are not buried in the past. Every other night, Maggie and Nina have dinner together. When they are finished, Nina helps Maggie back to her room in the attic, and into the heavy chain that keeps her there.

Definitely worth the credit.

Talk about plot twist. Just when I think I have everything figured out I’m thrown for a loop. This was my first time exploring this author. I like his writing style and I’m going to check out more of his books. The narrator was amazing. She really brought the story to life.

Historia
Alyssa Milano, actress and activist, delivers here a collection of powerful personal essays that get to the heart of her life, career, and all-out humanitarianism. These essays are unvarnished and elegant, funny and heartbreaking, and utterly real. A timely book that shows in almost real time the importance of taking care of others, it also gives a gut-punch-level wake-up call in an era where the noise is a distraction from what really needs to happen, if we want to live in a better world.

Very honest and open book
Revisado: 11-04-21
I really enjoyed this book. I love her honesty and openness on topics. Her book does touch on politics, racism, and humanity, but that’s to be expected because she is an activist. She’s never hidden that. She discusses her feelings about things and shares her side of stories that have been blown out of proportion with media. Narration is amazing as well. It gives more feeling to the stories.
