Entertaining and Suspenseful
Revisado: 01-21-23
I can easily recommend this audiobook if you’re looking for something light hearted, suspenseful and witty. This story has a fun and different spin on what vampires can and can’t do which makes it more entertaining since it’s not a rehash of the usual. The main character Sarah is witty and funny, and the narrator does a great job with line delivery. The supporting characters are also interesting and not the usual ghoulish types you might expect. The narration of the male voices is also done well with some minor exceptions - I quickly got past that. Solid audiobook.

A complete crime fiction box set! Homicide detective Thomas Prescott may be retired—but a serial killer, a high-profile murder, an ill-fated cruise, and a chilling small-town crime add more than enough excitement to his hard-earned rest. This collection includes the first four books: Unforeseen, Gray Matter, The Afrikaans, and Show Me.

Good story with a frustrating cliffhanger!
Revisado: 12-14-18
The story is entertaining and keeps one's interest throughout. At times I became a bit inpatient for more action but the romance keep things moving ahead despite some slow spots. There is an unexpected and very heartbreaking twist to the story and that's where the frustration comes in. I can't wait to read the next installment, because it's hard to believe this is how things end. I can easily recommend this book. I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

Balancing a career and a relationship is never easy, and it's even harder when you are on the road and everyone wants a piece of you. As a music major who sacrificed everything to become master of the upright bass, the last thing Michele Scott thought she'd be doing is touring with an Americana and Bluegrass band. But to tell the truth, she loves it. Not so much David Blackstone. Even though he's irresistible, the thought of balancing her career, life on the road, and a long-distance relationship isn't for her. Her music gives her life, yet her heart yearns for something more.

This is a good story about building new lifetime friendships and finding romance and love. The characters are all interesting with distinct personalities and a personal strength. The twists and turns between Michelle and Davids budding romance keeps the story interesting. The narration is very good. It's easy to follow each character and Sonja Field does a good job of bringing out their personalities. I would recommend this book. Also, I was received the audiobook for free in exchange for an honest review. Enjoy!

Historia
Because BB Easton had so much fun writing her best-selling, award-winning memoir, 44 Chapters About 4 Men, she decided to give each of her four men his own steamy stand-alone. Star is Hans' book - a whirlwind rock star romance based on true events. In 1999, I met my Prince Charming. He was the tall, tattooed, wickedly handsome bass player for the up-and-coming rock band Phantom Limb. But, more importantly, he was mine. I knew it the moment he flashed me that shy, dimpled smile.

BB does a great job of telling the love story between her an Hans. I listened with anticipation as it felt like a wonderful, heat warming love story. But, not all love stories turn out as expected. Great narration and definitely an interesting story. I'm looking forward to volume 4! Historia
When Janelle Prescott is thrown from her car as it careens off a slippery road, she expects to wake up in a hospital. Instead, to her utter disbelief, she wakes up in a jail cell that looks like something from an old Western movie set. It is there, hurt and alone, with no idea what happened or how she will get back home, that Janelle first meets Aaron Jackson. As she regains her wits, however, Janelle realizes something is terribly amiss, and her worst fears are confirmed when she learns Aaron is the marshal of Cheyenne County, Wyoming...and the year is 1878.

Not for me
Revisado: 06-12-18
The book started out well enough with an interesting story about a modern day woman, Janelle, falling back in time, around 1840’s, where she meets a handsome marshal, Aaron. Unfortunately shortly into the story the writing takes a disappointing turn. Aaron is attracted to Janelle but finds her modern way of speaking and casual use of swear words unacceptable. He decides she needs a spanking and gives her a couple of dozen hits. She is extremely upset with this unwelcome treatment and runs away. Once she’s away she realizes she is alone, scared and with no place to go. The Marshal quickly finds her and when he catches up with her manages to convince her she deserved to be hit again for running away, which she is very upset about but submits to since she's alone and scared. I found this authors way of introducing adult play spanking into a relationship poorly done. A frightened woman being forced to accept a spanking is not a good message. This completely turned me off and I couldn’t finish the book.

Any additional comments?
This genre is outside my normal non-fiction and historical romance but I found it truly engaging. I thought the story started out a little slow but once it took off, after the first couple of chapters, I found it hard to put down. I was not familiar with this time period so I did a little research on some of the locations mentioned, so I could follow along a little better, and for me it made a difference. I really enjoyed this story from a historical perspective and the plot itself. This is one book I will listen to more than once! The narration can make a significant difference with audiobooks and Paul Jenkins did an excellent job. It was easy to follow each of the characters and he brought out the feelings and emotions of each very well.

Suspenseful paranormal romance
Revisado: 01-02-18
Any additional comments?
This story is suspenseful, entertaining and full of mystery. I like that the characters are practical and logical in tricky situations (that's always refreshing). The blooming attraction between Emme and Rhys is romantic. The paranormal aspect of the story adds an interesting dimension to what might otherwise be a predictable romance. The narration by Lillian Ives is good. She does a great job with distinguishing character voices and bringing out each distinct personality. This is an interesting and suspenseful romance.
