Historia
Kelvin Wiltshire lives the life of a simple cook in a remote village on the far side of Trendham. The townsfolk think little of the man and his son and believe him to be just another refugee from the Terabinian war. On cold winter nights, they share rumors of the bloody conflict and the mysterious death of Will Cartwright, the mighty mage who had the power to command storms. They like the new cook. They fear the fallen king. But the two men are one and the same.

Too graphic homosexual and incest scenes
Revisado: 02-17-25
This book was unnecessarily graphic in those two parts. None of the other books had graphic sex parts. In this book for some reason it was very prominent, even the part where Will went to Sammy's in the beginning felt unnecessary if not too graphic. I thought it was appropriate in the earlier books when they said Liana was gay, they didn't have to do a whole section of the book about it.

Historia
How do you kill a Saint? Falcio, Kest, and Brasti are about to find out, because someone has figured out a way to do it and they've started with a friend. The Dukes were already looking for ways out of their agreement to put Aline on the throne, but with the Saints turning up dead, rumors are spreading that the Gods themselves oppose her ascension. Now churches are looking to protect themselves by bringing back the military orders of religious soldiers, assassins, and (especially) Inquisitors - a move that could turn the country into a theocracy.

it was alright
Revisado: 05-20-24
Everyone likes different stuff in a book, and I'm sure there are a lot of people that would like this series, but I had to stop early in this book. Just my personal preference but I don't like the hero losing so much in a fantasy series. The whole torture thing was a bit much in the last book and this one I had to stop when the knights ambushed them on the road with the little girl in the greatcloak. Not sure what happened after that but I don't want to go through 17 hours of audiobook with falcio losing over and over til he wins in the last hour. it's kind of depressing. Also some of the characters names are too similar, especially the female characters. makes it hard to keep track.

Change in story?
Revisado: 09-24-23
in the first 3 there were no indications that the school was anti-lower class, Then immediately in this book it was non-stop, predictable and over-done. I only made it halfway, but it kind of tarnished Mymonbees (spelling?) who seemed like a father figure.

lost a star
Revisado: 09-01-23
great story, great performance, but lost a star because of the volume of the yelling. I usually listen in the car, and there was a few times where i was listening at a stop light with the windows down and Rin started yelling and it was so loud I had to turn it down, then turn it back up after. I've probably listened to 200 audio books and that's never happened before

a lot of description
Revisado: 08-26-23
I gave this 3 stars because it would be unfair to rate a 1 or a 2 on a personal preference that seems to be a minority. But I did want to highlight what I didn't like. I don't like over descriptions of the scene in a book. I'd rather the plot progresses instead of a 10 second description of what the clouds looked like if they have no impact on the story. This book did a lot of that. I didn't get very far into it. The bouncer seemed like a good character but that didn't last long. The girl character after that was boring and slow.

Historia
A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

main character voice?
Revisado: 06-25-23
all the other voices sound fine, but the voice the narrator uses for Carl talks like Brian Regan the stand up guy. once you hear it you can't unhear it. kind of grates on your nerves a little.

Revisado: 04-21-23
I didn't finish this. I thought the first one was kind of boring and uneventful. I wasn't going to get the next one but it got a high avg rating so I thought it would get to him being found out and helping the other marked heroes and overcoming the handicap, but got bored and moved on.

Time Travel Stories have there own paradox
Revisado: 12-12-22
Story was okay. There were a lot of times where he should have just jumped back a day and undid what happened, or unhappened. But that is the time travel story paradox, if you really could travel through time, it wouldn't be that great of a story because you would always win.
