A bit of a disappointment

I’m a big fan of the Sisterhood. I own every book, including books of the men of the Sisters. I LOVE this series. But this book fell a little short for me. First, Izzie’s background story was vastly different from the original. And second, this book had a very slow start. Even the relationship between the sisters seemed forced. It was a bit of a disappointment but I would buy the next book anyway.

Great plot. Tropical setting - who doesn't love it. Wonderful characters-funny and quirky. And topped off with a really really good narrator. All the ingredients for a most enjoyable book.

Just not good

The plot was not the best. The narrator was not good. Compared to the other books in the series, this story definitely did not meet the standard.

What happened

What happened to the promised recipes. And during the last part of the book in four places the narrator was speaking to the director. These should have been edited out.

But all in all a good book

Mixed feelings

I had mixed feelings. I love Fern Michaels works especially the sisterhood series. But this one was a little disappointing. Good plot but aside from Nikki there was very little interaction with the core group of sisters in the sisterhood

The Longest 15 Hours of My Life!!

What disappointed you about One Night: Promised?

I am still confused about the plot in this book. The story line was like coming into the middle of a conversation. If the book was part of a series, I could understand it better, but no such luck. On top of that, the climax left me standing there with nowhere to go and lots of questions. What??????

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator was so slow, I had to speed up the timing of my listen. And then it was still too long.

ATROCIOUS!!

I suffered through three chapters of this story before I decided I could not take it anymore. At first, I thought it was the narrator who had the worst accent ever. Clearly, she had never been to NC. I am from NC and have never heard an accent like hers (not even sure where I would hear one like hers). But after suffering through another couple of chapters, I realized that I hated the story as well. It was far too negative and offensive for me. Never seen people so very back woods!!! Atrocious!

I'm Hooked

Book 2 was the first of the Fools Gold series that I listened to. It was actually with book 2 that I became hooked on the Fool Gold series by Susan Mallery. Although it is a series, you can start with any book in the series and not be confused or feel something was left out. Yet, having listened to the whole series, each book just adds more. Liz and Ethan's story was so touching. It made me become more invested in learning more about all the characters in Fools Gold.

Parker and Mal did not disappoint!

Wow! Nora did it again. I'm sad to see this series come to an end. I have enjoyed the women of Vows immensely. Once again, the combination of Nora Roberts as author and Angela Dawe as narrator wins! What a great series. I recommend it to anyone.

Emma and Jack brought romance to the forefront

Nora Roberts has done a great job weaving these four stories of love and friendship together. I love Emma and Jack's story. And I love how unique each love story is to the characters. Angela Dawe is a welcomed change from the first narrator. She really draws you in.
