Couldn't put it down....
Revisado: 08-16-23
....or couldn't stop listening, in this case.
I listen to books during my commute and it was very difficult to get out of the car on my arrival. I haven't read/ listened to all of Dugoni's books but I am never disappointed by them. This one didn't fail me either. I found the storyline suspenseful, the characters well explained and defined (for me not having a previous background on any of them except a slim memory of David Sloane). The narration for the audiobook is very well done as well.

A good read, or listen
Revisado: 06-04-23
Barbara O'Neal is a wonderful writer. I've enjoyed all of her books so far. This one might seem a little slow and intense compared to some, but O'Neal reveals her characters in a way that made me want to know more about them.

As always, T.E. Kinsey delights with a great story line, witty dialogue, and the marvelous Flo Armstrong and Lady Hardcastle. It's like getting together with old friends to hear their latest adventures over a cup of tea or a snifter of brandy

This book may be too difficult for domestic violence victims to listen to or read. There were so many times I wanted to give up on the story and almost stopped listening because of the life of anguish caused by the father. Thankfully there is some redemption, unfortunately it doesn't always happen in real life.

Revisado: 06-26-21
What a lovely story about life. If you've lost someone recently (or ever), you might have a hard time getting through the first chapter. I almost gave up, but I'm glad a came back to it and finished the whole book.
Nick and Eric are the best of friends, with all the feels of being 10 years old and then their mid-30s rollercoaster of life. Amanda Prowse is a marvelous writer, taking you along for the ride with ease. Having her reading for the audiobook is a bonus!! I will be looking at the rest of her books. Can't wait!

Another gem from Camille Pagán!
Revisado: 05-27-21
I didn't realize this was a continuation of Libby's story until over halfway through the book! Oh yeah, now I'm remembering some of it! Lol!
I love learning from other's insights on life and I saved multiple phrases and quotes from this book. Several of them I want to share with a friend who is having depression from repression. Who knew it was a thing? Yes, we know. But do we realize it until we're actually in the middle of it?
Pagán delivers the story, the family, the friends that you want to keep getting together with. They're real and they're good, however imperfect. Too much of our time is spent being entertained by stories revolving around people who aren't even basically 'good'.
I've read (or listened to) all of Pagán's books and have loved each one. Crossing my fingers that they will keep coming!

Revisado: 05-07-21
Not the type of story that usually interests me, although very well written.
I hesitated to continue in this book because I just was so, so sad after getting into the first section. But, I am so very glad I did. What an incredible insight into what all the different perspectives are in a situation.
