My last Sienna Nealon book?

I've been enjoying this series. Sienna is snarky, like me. I don't read fiction but, I enjoy it in audiobook form. Turns out that this is the last audiobook in the series. Wonderful. I've looked at the eBook a few times but, never gotten beyond the first page or two. Unless there are more audiobooks coming, I'll never know how it all turns out. The fact that I even looked at the eBook means a lot. Guess I'll just have to go back to reading the news.

Definitely not the best of Iris Johansen

The story was disjointed and, at times, dull. The narration was awful.; too many men's voices sounded too similar. The hero sounded autistic, which I think was an attempt at some sort of Native American way of speaking. If I were Native American, I'd have been offended. I'd have given up before the end, if I hadn't paid for it.

NOW, I like Cyrus

This is the book that changed my mind about Cyrus. Didn't like him when he arrived on Safari but, in this one, I was finally convinced he loved our Emily and didn't just want to control her.

Mrs. P is always wonderful!!

I've loved Mrs. Pollifax since I was a kid and read my first one. I either read or listen to them every few years because they're fun, well written and they never lose their appeal. They're not the Great Books but, they're fabulous. My only criticism is that she's 64 but, they treat her like she's 85....old lady voice and all. Of all the heroines in all the books, I think she's the least likely to act like an old lady. She's inspired me to do the same.

Mixed bag...

I'm amazed at some of the interpersonal details. The character of Ro is a horrible example of a teenage girl. She has no integrity. If a teenage boy wanted to use me for "arm candy" and screw around with two other girls at the same time, he'd be history FAST. I have no respect for her and, I have serious reservations about Ben being complicit in that. If Ro is so smart and gorgeous, she doesn't need to settle for this foolishness. The mystery, in the final third of Part I, is totally overshadowed by this foolishness. I'm also insulted that she's constantly unable to drive because she's angry/sad/otherwise incapacitated by hysteria. She's no heroine.

Having heard other Faye Kellerman books narrated by Mitchell Greenberg, I find this narration a bit irritating. This narrator obviously didn't know the history of Chris Donati. He made him sound as if he were close to 60, instead of in his early 30s and gave him the wrong accent; too cliche gangster. If I hadn't known the character and his history, it might've been ok. Great story though!!

Great story, Fabulous narrator!!

I really enjoy listening to Mitch Greenberg reading this series. I wish he'd done all of them. To me, he's become Peter Decker. Not only that, but his character voices, accents, and Hebrew pronunciation really put these books over the top. Please, please, please, let him complete the series!! I've tried to listen to some of the others and they just aren't "right" after hearing Mitch's treatment of them.

What I needed to hear ..

I stumbled across this book somehow, I don't remember how. Having been in a difficult life situation for many years now, I've been searching for the key to fixing things. I've read and listened to a LOT of books, but none of them ever seemed to be the right thing. It's only been a few days since I finished listening to this book, but when I finished, I felt like a tremendous weight had been lifted off of me. I'm hoping, as the author states, the effects of the Five Wishes will continue to develop and be refined as time passes. It could be what I've needed to hear. It's certainly helped so far!!

As for the recording, the author's voice is kind of unusual, but not bad or irritating. I think hearing the Five Wishes concept & technique directly from him is important. He seems to have a calm understanding of the subject matter and a good presentation of it for the listener. You can hear his admiration for this technique he learned many years ago and the awe for how it's affected his life.

I'm glad I listened. Good luck to all of you who listen too. May your five wishes be the key to a wonderful life.
