Historia
The campaign of destruction that Axel Soledad and Dallas Cates wreaked on Nate Romanowski and Joe Pickett left both men in tatters, especially Nate, who lost almost everything. Wondering if the civilized life left him vulnerable to attack, Nate dropped off the grid with his falcons in tow to prepare for vengeance. When Joe gets a call from the governor asking for help finding his son-in-law, who has gone missing in the Sierra Madre mountain range, he enlists the help of a local, a rookie game warden named Susan Kany.

I LOVE this series, and this novel is as good or better than most. Compelling plot. The usual beautiful mountain settings. And all the characters are back and sooo likable. Thank you CJ!

Historia
Prosecutor Jessie Black has an airtight case against Tyrone Nash, a gang thug who shot a man behind a bar in West Philly. But what should be an easy trial turns complicated when Nash somehow intimidates her eyewitness, and he recants his testimony on the eve of the trial. Now Jessie's only move to stop the killer from walking is to call a witness she had hoped to avoid - Reggie Tuck, a smooth-talking jailhouse snitch who claims Nash confessed to him during a short time they shared a cell.

Historia
Gabriel has made an art of dangling what I'm most desperate for in front of me, what he knows I can't refuse, no matter the cost. In this case, that cost continues to be me. He is still a scoundrel, but I'm starting to see something more. And while our bargain is proving advantageous in ways I never anticipated, the risks that come with being associated with a man like him are becoming painfully clear. But how much longer before this arrangement with Gabriel costs me everything I am?

Fantastic narration

The plot was interesting but overall depressing. I guess that’s inevitable given the author’s intentions. I’d recommend reading this book when you’re in a solid mental frame. It’s not an easy read, but worth it.

Historia
It's the most important rule of scuba diving: If you don't feel right, don't go down. So after her father falls ill, 12-year-old Julie Sims must take over and lead two of his clients on a dive miles off the coast of Alabama while her father stays behind in the boat. When the clients, a reckless boy Julie's age and his equally foolhardy father, disregard Julie's instructions during the dive, she quickly realizes she's in over her head. And once she surfaces, things only get worse: One of the clients is in serious condition, and their dive boat has vanished.

The story addresses a difficult subject matter in a straightforward, sensitive manner. The author built the romantic relationship between the protagonists slowly but inexorably. This novel has a lot of heart behind it. Bravo.
