Historia
Pursued by the dark forces of the necromancer Heinrich Kemmler, Gotrek and Felix arrive at Castle Reikgard, where they must hold out against the zombie hordes. The brutality of the siege is unremitting as wave after wave of horrific creatures, led by the undead champion Krell, attempt to take the walls. With supplies running low and morale sinking, the defenders begin to hear terrible whispers and endure awful nightmares. Suspicion and paranoia run rampant within the castle walls, and the defence seems impossible.

Another strong entry into the series. Gotrek is himself. Felix is more confident and proactive in his actions (after everything he and Gotrek faced, I don’t blame him), Kat is still fun, and Snorri…. Snorri forgot.

Historia
The vampire Wulfe is missing. Since he’s deadly, possibly insane, and his current idea of “fun” is stalking me, some may see it as no great loss. But, warned that his disappearance might bring down the carefully constructed alliances that keep our pack safe, my mate and I must find Wulfe—and hope he’s still alive. As alive as a vampire can be, anyway.

The more things change the more they stay the same
Revisado: 10-09-22
This is not going to be an easy review. I have re-read Mercy's story several times. I will always state that the first three books are the strongest, in sense of tone and threat to the characters. The fact that the main character can be heart in such a way and have lasting, frightening, consequence that are still felt now shows great talent. The middle books felt like things were changing and that Mercy had to learn how to become part of a pack and how to be just as dominate as Adam. Fire Touched felt like a good movement of the story, and every other book after that felt like "That's an interesting idea.... lets not do that."
All the characters in this book feel very sitcom/wattpad levels of development. Adam has been reduced down to "hot guy with anger issues that is placated with sex." Mercy is ... not Mercy. Stefan continues to be the punching bag. Story wise, felt too much like "Previously on Buffy the Vampire Slayer," And the big bag comes in for the last part of the book and, makes a villainous speech to inform the audience of his actions, and fluffs off leaving the main characters plenty of time to stop his plans. PB has always had a problem with lasting or engaging villains, and this book proved it.
Read if you are dedicated, other wise you didn't miss much.

Know what you are getting into.
Revisado: 06-26-18
If you know anything of the Night Lords or Konrad Curze, then you know that they use any means to sow fear into compliance. If this is your first romp into Warhammer 30K, then you have been warned.
Performances are good, except for Curze who is voiced by either Jonathan Keeble or Toby Longworth. I just came off the Art of Provocation where (one of the two) played Lukas the Trickster and Curze sounds more like the Jackal Wolf than the Nighthunter.

Historia
Samantha "Sam" MacHorne and her Devil Dogs need a contract, and when one comes in that leads to the haunted Wythmoor Forest, the company moves out with warjacks and slug guns at the ready.... Sam and the Devil Dogs may be relaxing in Tarna, but it’s not by choice - they’d rather be employed than resting up. When a dangerous job offer comes from "the old man", Sam takes the Devil Dogs and their newest recruit, Dawson, on a perilous hunt to capture an unidentified warjack before their rival Steelheads or the horrific Cryx make a claim on the never-before-seen technology.

Bark as big as their bite
Revisado: 03-14-14
If you could sum up The Devil's Pay in three words, what would they be?
Funny. Enjoyable. A family.
What other book might you compare The Devil's Pay to and why?
Into the Storm. Because the Devil Dogs act just like the Malcentents... Just with a few more ladies.
Which character – as performed by Steve Baker – was your favorite?
Dawson was a good character to see the Dog's interaction with eachother, and he and Sam seemed to have sparks of chemistry. Sam is an interesting leader: one time being a caring older sister, the other being a no nonsense leader.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
The Dogs of War will Howl.
Any additional comments?
My only wish is that they continued to story in the next volume.

Madigan's Dirty Dozen
Revisado: 03-14-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Good mixture of fantasy and science-fiction. The characters are interesting and charismatic and feel like brothers. The fighting scenes are not romantize, instead they are gruesome and bloody.
What other book might you compare Into the Storm to and why?
The Dity Dozen. Madigan's Malcontents are the worse of the worse. Drunks, thieves, cowards, and possible lunatics, under Madigan and his support squad they become a true fighting force and gain redemption.
Which character – as performed by Ray Porter – was your favorite?
Savio Acosta. The Ordic mercenary is charismatic and well written.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Redemption.
Any additional comments?
Into the Storm expands the political turmoil and rebuild of Cygnar after the Lion's Coup. Cassia feels alive and the morals of the characters are relatable.

Wasted Potential
Revisado: 03-14-14
If you could sum up Halo: Mortal Dictata in three words, what would they be?
Pretentious. Hypocritical. Touching.
Would you be willing to try another book from Karen Traviss? Why or why not?
No. Mainly from her past with the Star Wars series. She has the potential of being a great author, but choses to fall back on mediocry and paint by color characters.
What about Euan Morton’s performance did you like?
He is a talented narrator. He gives emotion and personality to characters who des privately need it.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Extreme in the sense that I had to force myself throughs the Kilo-Five sections. The section with the Kig-Yar are fascinating and funny, while the scenes with Staffon are genuinely tragic and sad as he shows how devoted a parent is to their child.
Any additional comments?
This story had the make up to be a great tragic story, if it stayed focus on one character. The "villains" are more interesting than the "heroes", and the moral decisions of the hero characters are well thought out theories, but without acting on them, then they are nothing but theories. The Spartans are too perfect, everyone else is too stupid, and there is a constant fascism undertone to the story.

Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

Beautiful Story. Mediocre Performance
Revisado: 03-14-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This is classic, smart Science Fiction. Where technology is seen more as a religion and myth than science and progress. To see how people survive and live in these hostile condition will entice any reader.
What did you like best about this story?
The relationships that the characters have with one another are fascinating. The closer they are to power, the further they are to ones they love.
What three words best describe the narrators’s performance?
Dull. Dry. Inconsistent.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It's hard to. If it stayed with the full cast play, then it could be listened in a day. However, Scott Brick takes the majority of the book and he cannot hold listener's attention when they have been exposed to the other, more talented, actors.
Any additional comments?
More consistency with the narration could be nice.
