Historia
Janner, Tink, and Leeli Igiby thought they were normal children with normal lives and a normal past. But now they know they're really the Lost Jewels of Anniera, heirs to a legendary kingdom across the sea, and suddenly everyone wants to kill them. In order to survive, the Igibys must flee to the safety of the Ice Prairies, where the lizardlike Fangs of Dang cannot follow. First, however, they have to escape the monsters of Glipwood Forest, the thieving Stranders of the East Ben, and the dreaded Fork Factory.

A Beautiful and Moving Epic of Brotherly Love
Revisado: 11-01-24
Though perhaps not as good, in some ways, as the first book. This volume has a different overall story than the first. It exemplifies a different deep familial love.
In the first volume, the book catches everything and is well-rounded. It has adventure, emotion, and depth. It emphasizes the virtue of pure familial love.
This second volume emphasizes a different aspect, the love of an older brother. It travels the anger, rivalry, abandonment, and betrayal of brothers. Things we wish we hadn't said and hadn't done. But shows, in the end, the deep unwavering love of an older brother. It's the same love that I have for my younger brothers. Though, in their older years, my brothers don't remember and don't love me in return. I am just as desperate as Janner to hold them close, no matter how they wound me.
This is my favorite fiction series of all time. It outstrips Dune, The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Hunger Games, the Twilight series, and the Chronicles of Narnia. Purity and truth shine through these novels and nothing is as beautiful as the Maker.

Thank the Maker for a Wonderful Book!
Revisado: 10-28-24
I LOVE that the book doesn't treat Christians or those who believe in God like they are insane.
Too many authors do that. Sure, other authors put Christians in their novels, but they happen to be the serial killer or the insane suicide cultists (facepalm - Ex. a post-apocalyptic book titled something like 'The Gray').
This book speaks well of The Maker, when He is mentioned (I love that).
Furthermore, it's a really great tale. Loss, tragedy, family, honor, protection, love, sacrifice, mystery, suspense, and everything good is set into a wonderful and, at times, very funny world. Silly comparisons between things that lack a real-world analog. Its sense of humor is consistent and beautiful.
I have rarely encountered anything half a good and wonderous.

Painting Christians as the bad guys who just so happen to be mentally insane and a complete religious devotion to evolution.
Revisado: 08-28-24
This could have been a good story, but the author becomes extremely preachy about how evolution is a fact and everyone who doesn't share the author's zeal is incompetent. Then, the insane bad people are Christians. 🤦♂️
Evolutionists claim that Noah's Flood was a local event. Then, why does nearly every culture on earth have a worldwide flood story (from Israel to Hawaii to China and more than 298 other cultures around the world)? The only way that makes sense is if they all originated from the same boat... And people call Christians closed-minded. 🙄

LGBTQ Homage, Lesbian Romp
Revisado: 08-18-24
This series began well, but in the second and third seasons, it just became a vehicle for twisted ideals of love and intimacy born entirely of fantasy. Real lesbian relationships are not as they are painted up to be, like lipstick on a pig. Look at the statistics.
Glaring examples of foolishness plague the characters. The writers missed reading "The Top 100 Things I'd Do If I Ever Became An Evil Overlord." It would have helped them avoid the obvious blunders.

LGBT Mess
Revisado: 08-18-24
The first "season" lures you in, only to become a soulless lesbian romp to glorify homosexual activities. No guilt for cheating on their "soulmate." No understanding of the love of God or the love of a father. Broken characters with a broken view of life, love, and sensuality.

Defying Jihad is the true story of a girl growing up under radical Islamic rule, trained to believe her ultimate purpose was to serve Allah by dying as a jihadist. Super-woke Anti-Christian Lefty NeoMarxist LGBTQIA+++ Rant with a Little Bit of Story
Revisado: 07-04-24
Most of the story was overshadowed by an extreme commitment to woke ideology.
If that is what you seek, at least half as much as actual content, then you will like this book.
If you prefer story to religiously zealous over-woke propaganda, skip this title. It's not worth it.

I did not like the moments of foul language. However, the rest of the story was amazing. The story was intense and well-written. the performance was very good. There were only a couple of mispronunciations, that I noticed.

Historia
The Battle of Serenity Valley was the turning point that led the Independents to their defeat at the hands of the Alliance. Yet the Browncoats had held the valley for weeks against all odds, before being ordered to lay down their arms. Command stated they refused to send in airpower because the ground war was "too hot". But the soldiers who were there insist that was not true.... While picking up a new cargo on Persephone, Captain Malcolm Reynolds is kidnapped by a bunch of embittered veteran Browncoats who suspect him of sabotaging the Independents during the war.

Exasperating Details Conveyed About Everything & Everyone, Told and Not Shown
Revisado: 06-17-24
I was only able to endure about an hour and a half of the nine-plus hour endurance trek. Usually, the longer the audiobook, the better. However, on my second try of this title and hoping that it would get better, it never did.
A huge cast of characters was introduced in a short amount of time. Each one had their own backstory that was hinted at and described, but never placed into a story. Exasperating details were conveyed about everything & everyone.
Through writing my own work and The old maxim "show don't tell," I have learned and experienced the suffering induced by telling the audience about something for extended periods. However, that suffering is the reflexive action of the writers of this drama. They tried to pour every bit of lore from their universe into the mind of the reader, even force-feeding it through the nose, instead of allowing the reader to step into the world and look around.
The result was a lore-heavy slog with far too unimpressive action and story to make the exchange worth my time. It was exhausting.
I cannot recommend this title at all.

Excellent Story Presentation
Revisado: 05-28-24
The flow of the story maintains interest throughout. The lore and information are woven into the conversations and sparsed through important events and descriptions, as they should be.
