It was a good listen. Wished the narrator was someone else. Farnsworth did a good job on this masterpiece.

Historia
An estimated five million Americans suffer from obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and live diminished lives in which they are compelled to obsess about something or to repeat a similar task over and over. Traditionally OCD has been treated with Prozac or similar drugs. The problem with medication, aside from its cost, is that 30 percent of people treated don't respond to it, and when the pills stop, the symptoms invariably return.

A superb read! The most useful and life changing book I’ve listened to!
Revisado: 12-17-20
As a medical practitioner I believe this book to be an encyclopedia for combating OCD... I’ve seen how OCD has ruined countless lives by causing undue anxiety and most importantly wasting the time of the individual... this awesome book shows how to combat this monster in a very detailed way...
It’s sad that some educated fools have asked for a professional reader to do the job... utter nonsense... Dr Schwartz does a good job in doing the reading that is crisp and clear...
The other complaints idiots make is that the book is too long... how long have you suffered with this terrible disease that you cannot give a few hours to help you combat the disease in a better way?... no pain no gain, so without being lazy one has to go thoroughly through this manual... yeah, it’s repetitive and if you are an OCD sufferer then I suppose it’s no big deal...
The four step approach and all examples sited serve a valuable purpose... don’t listen to the nay sayers and please listen to this book not once but many times and most importantly apply it to your life...
Remember that this is an encyclopedia and not a summary... READ AND APPLY... THANK YOU DR SCHWARTZ AND THANK YOU AUDIBLE...

A well written book!
Revisado: 11-07-20
As a practicing doctor, I plan to listen to this book not three times as advocated by the authors but ten(or even more times) as this is a good read and sound in many ways... yes, it’s the same thing other books of this sort usually tells but believe me, this is different and I guess we all need sharpening the saw... well worth your credit!!!

Historia
It's comforting to imagine that superstars in their fields were just born better equipped than the rest of us. When a co-worker loses 20 pounds, or a friend runs a marathon while completing a huge project at work, we assume they have more grit, more willpower, more innate talent, and above all, more motivation to see their goals through. But that's not at actually true, as popular Inc.com columnist Jeff Haden proves. "Motivation" as we know it is a myth. Motivation isn't the special sauce that we require at the beginning of any major change.

Historia
What is masculinity? Ask ten men and you'll get ten vague, conflicting answers. Unlike any book of its kind, The Way of Men offers a simple, straightforward answer - without getting bogged down in religion, morality, or politics. It's a guide for understanding who men have been and the challenges men face today. The Way of Men captures the silent, stifling rage of men everywhere who find themselves at odds with the overregulated, overcivilized, politically correct modern world.

Nothing much gained…
Revisado: 10-29-20
It’s sad that the book didn’t stand up to its name… as in any non-fiction book one expects a problem and a solution to the problem… in this book I didn’t understand the primary issue underpinning the book… neither is the solution clear… few nuggets here and there but would I go back to it?… not really, it’s just a waste of time…

A revolutionary system to get one per cent better every day. People think when you want to change your life, you need to think big. But world-renowned habits expert James Clear has discovered another way. He knows that real change comes from the compound effect of hundreds of small decisions – doing two push-ups a day, waking up five minutes early, or holding a single short phone call. He calls them atomic habits.

Anders Ericsson has spent 30 years studying the special ones - the geniuses, sports stars and musical prodigies. And his remarkable finding, revealed in Peak, is that their special abilities are acquired through training. The innate 'gift' of talent is a myth. Exceptional individuals are born with just one unique ability, shared by us all - the ability to develop our brains and bodies through our own efforts.

Long but necessary...
Revisado: 08-15-20
This was a great listen!... I really learned a lot from the contents of the book... the theme is a simple one but how many of us believe it?... that, is the very reason that the authors time and again made the statement about how deliberate practice trumps talent, opportunity etc... talent is over rated... yes, the authors do talk about deliberate practice in many different variations... but that is needed... I’m truly a believer of this beautiful theme proposed by the author... and the narrator did a superb job... hats off to the team!... please read this book if you want to get a feel about how to excel in almost ANYTHING!!!
