Historia
“Long live the King” hailed Entertainment Weekly upon publication of Stephen King’s On Writing. Part memoir, part master class by one of the bestselling authors of all time, this superb volume is a revealing and practical view of the writer’s craft, comprising the basic tools of the trade every writer must have. King’s advice is grounded in his vivid memories from childhood through his emergence as a writer, from his struggling early career to his widely reported, near-fatal accident in 1999—and how the inextricable link between writing and living spurred his recovery.

I love hearing Stephen King
Revisado: 03-22-21
I've hearing Stephen King tell his own stories in his voice. He and his sons are great fun together.

Historia
Welcome to Derry, Maine. It’s a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only in Derry the haunting is real. They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they are grown-up men and women who have gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But the promise they made 28 years ago calls them reunite in the same place where, as teenagers, they battled an evil creature that preyed on the city’s children.

Liked most of it.

I didn't like that there was a scene where children were having sex. It wasn't beautiful, artful, or even necessary to the story. He didn't have to write that they were somehow losing their bond and that they had to reconnect. It's as if King needed a reason to put this child sex scene into the story. That's why he threw this notion that they were becoming less connected in. He was justifing the sex. Cheep.
I'm no prude. I don't mind scenes of sex between adults, but this was a bridge too far. It was the only disappointing part. Also, I feel certain that reactions like mine are probably thrilling for him. To shock and disgust people are his bread and butter.

Historia
Invite Hannibal Lecter into the palace of your mind and be invited into his mind palace in turn. Note the similarities in yours and his, the high vaulted chambers of your dreams, the shadowed halls, the locked storerooms where you dare not go, the scrap of half-forgotten music, the muffled cries from behind a wall. In one of the most eagerly anticipated literary events of the decade, Thomas Harris takes us once again into the mind of a killer, crafting a chilling portrait of insidiously evolving evil - a tour de force of psychological suspense.

Exquisitely gruesome.

This is not for the faint of heart. The descriptions paint a vivid picture that made me cringe, but all for the betterment of the story. This was guilty pleasure.

It was good until he started bashing President Trump and Fox News. For someone who is supposed to be interested in the truth, he needs to dig a little deeper.

Historia
Prosecuting attorney in the Manson trial Vincent Bugliosi held a unique insider's position in one of the most baffling and horrifying cases of the 20th century: the cold-blooded Tate-LaBianca murders carried out by Charles Manson and four of his followers. What motivated Manson in his seemingly mindless selection of victims, and what was his hold over the young women who obeyed his orders? Now available for the first time in unabridged audio, the gripping story of this famous and haunting crime is brought to life by acclaimed narrator Scott Brick.

I never knew Manson's "family" was so extensive.
Revisado: 04-05-19
Very informative. It revealed so much about not just the "family" but also the legal system. So many interesting discussions could be triggered by this book. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, was that it droned on a bit in a few places. Overall, it was interesting enough for me to recommend it to others. Happy listening.
