Historia
Two astronomers have detected a strange, pulsing signal from deep space. Within hours, the US government goes into lockdown, restricting airspace and scrubbing scientific data. Was the signal an intercepted communication revealing alarming plans for an enemy’s military strike? Or has humanity at long last found proof of extraterrestrial life?

Wholesome and Lovely

Truly enjoyed this story. Comforting and relatable. All the characters feel very real and genuine. Performance is good but I sometimes had trouble telling which character the author was talking for.

In the annals of seafaring and exploration, there is one name that immediately evokes visions of the open ocean, billowing sails, visiting strange, exotic lands previously uncharted, and civilizations never before encountered - Captain James Cook. Full of realistic action, lush descriptions of places and events, and fascinating historical characters such as King George III and the soon-to-be-notorious Master William Bligh, Dugard's gripping account of the life and death of Captain James Cook is a thrilling story of a discoverer hell-bent on going farther than any man.

Very Enjoyable
Revisado: 02-16-24
History lovers will probably appreciate this telling of Cook’s life, the good, bad, and ugly. Very much enjoyed this biography. Narrator was a bit one-toned, but that didn’t ruin the book for me. The facts alone kept me engaged in the story.

Historia
The secret to finding out anything you want to know is amazingly simple: Ask good questions. Most people trip through life asking bad questions - of teachers, friends, coworkers, clients, prospects, experts, and suspects. Even people trained in questioning, such as journalists and lawyers, commonly ask questions that get partial or misleading answers. People in any profession will immediately benefit by developing the skill and art of good questioning.

I Will Listen to it Again
Revisado: 01-25-24
Fascinating book. The reading speed was too fast, for some reason, so I had to slow it down. Very interesting observations on what makes for “good questioning” and gives many practical examples.
I am already viewing my conversations differently. I plan to go through this book again and take more detailed notes.

Nostalgia for me
Revisado: 06-04-23
Very much enjoyed the story. I grew up with the movie and was glad I got to listen to the updated version.
A few things in the story that didn’t seem to make sense plot-wise (particularly with Iris). Will have to read the original to see if this was the author’s inconsistency or the result of updating a story set in the past to fit a modern audience.
Overall, definitely enjoyed.
