He’ll save her from the nightmare in her past. Luke Haven has an adrenaline problem. As in, he can’t get enough. His squeaky-clean, nice-guy reputation in his small town isn’t a lie. But it’s not the whole truth, either. Although his real problem? He’s not even sure what he’s searching for. Melanie Andolini never thought she’d be starting over in her thirties. But moving back to her hometown is exactly the fresh start she needs. Until she runs into Luke Haven, and things get complicated. Really complicated.

Luke and Melanie
Revisado: 04-11-25
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS I am a huge Claire Kingsley fan, and this book did not disappoint. Whispers and Wildfire is Luke's highly anticipated book. Luke and Melanie were high school sweethearts who went their separate ways when Melanie moved away and became a voice actor. After her divorce, the pickle loving Mel moved back home and went to work with Luke at his body shop. Melanie has a stalker and of course, at the same time, they are dealing with that the town is also dealing with a wildfire. This doesn't stop Luke, his brothers, and those Bailey's from looking for her. Mel is a bad ass and finds a way to save herself from Roswell, the bad guy who loves to say good girl, which makes me gag a little. He goes down so satisfyingly. He will not kidnap or hurt another woman again. The narrators were great. Erin Mallon is one of my favorites, and Marcio Catalano is a new to me narrator, but he did well as well. I may be in the minority, but I like the new way Claire writes intimacy scenes.
I love that we got an update on the Bailey's and their families. I thought the epilogue was great. Melanie wasn't able to carry babies, but hearing about the babies of her heart made me tear up a little. Another great book!

Welcome back to the Costa family! This was an ARC book and audible. Connor Crais was amazing, and I really enjoyed Joseph Cannata's parts as well. All of Brittney's books are so well written, and her characters are always so well developed. The plots are always great, and keep you pulled in. I always love the way Britteny brings back old friends, and we get caught up on what's going on in their lives. I felt like you could feel the connection between Bella and Hudson, maybe because they had a real past friendship that helped make their romance so much deeper. My heart does ache every time they mention Bella's sister. I was pleasantly surprised that there was no drama between Hudson and the brothgers. They knew he was a great man who would treat her well. Another really good Brittney book.

Hard to rate! Heartbreaking and Disturbing!
Revisado: 01-08-25
I thought about this all night long and still have no idea how to rate it. I know it's based on a true story, and most if not all of it is facts, but it's so hard to believe. I can see children putting up with abuse because it's their parent, and they know no better, but a friend, an adult friend to come in and put up with that just blows my mind. I'm so torn, and it was definitely a struggle to read/ listen to. My heart breaks for those girls and for the friends. I know they are both at a prison now, which makes no sense to me. Whatsoever, how after doing all of these horrific things, you can be released. I think one of the things I struggled with was the dad constantly saying he never saw any abuse when he was actually out there being a part of it. Listening to her, tell him what to do. The whole thing is just so weird. What a struggle of a book!

I haven't left an actual review in a long time. I normally just rate it. I really enjoyed this book it had all the emotions. I couldn't put it down. There were times I was internally yelling at the book telling Lexie to defend herself. Tell Jude you begged them to call. Other things like them making her stay chained while giving birth when she made a horrible error as a child made me angry. I could see if she were an evil person intentionally hurting people. Then, poor Gracie, she made me so sad with how sad she was! The writing was great, and the narrator was wonderful. I hated for it to come to an end!

Ellie and Blake!
Revisado: 09-18-24
I love that this is Ellie's story. Samantha Christy's books are always filled with all the emotions, and this one didn't disappoint. I found myself tearing up, and I found myself chuckling, and I found myself filled with so much hate for Grant. Blake and Ellie were perfect for one another, and I loved their instant connection. All it took was a look. My heart broke for Masey and what she went through, but the love that Blake showed with her from the get-go was perfect. I can't wait until the time comes, and she gets her own book as well. I know the next book in this series is going to gut me. Just listening to Dallas's story and how upset he got. I know my heart is going to shatter. Another amazing book by Samantha Christy. Oh, and I'm so glad Grant got exactly what he deserved. I do wish I could have been privy to the conversation with Kyle when he called about Ellie's hands. This would make an amazing movie!!

Historia
One moment. One decision. Will change everything. I’ve spent my life chasing stories and mysteries, as well as running from love. I’ve also come face-to-face with evil before. Felt its breath on my skin and survived. But nothing could prepare me for that one day when my life changed. Impossible choices and unbearable sacrifices were made, and evil still won. The darkness we’d been hunting stole the only man I’d ever run to instead of from, and I’ll do everything in my power to bring Oliver back to our team. To me.

Mya and Oliver brought all the feels. I teared up way too many times! Reading this one was one thing but listening was so much better. I think this may be my favorite of the series. You don't want to miss this book and like always, Brittney's writing is amazing. I love the way she always brings back past characters! I'm already looking forward to what comes next with Gwen!

This book made me angry because of Christopher! All of this was his fault! I gave it 4 stars because I couldn't stop listening to find out what would happen next. I just can't get past Christopher's ignorance. He's an idiot! Poor Hannah!

Historia
Five years ago, a phone call forever changed my life as I listened to my wife being murdered half a world away. Going rogue from the CIA, I became a man feared by everyone as I sought vengeance. Lies she’d told and secrets she’d kept, pushed me over an even darker edge. With nothing to lose, I became unstoppable. A devil among men. Until justice was served, or so I’d thought it’d been . . . Working alongside a team of veterans, trying to find my way back to the man I’d once been, another life-altering call came, drawing me back to the dark world I’d left behind.

Carter and Diana
Revisado: 05-12-24
Brittney Sahin is a fabulous writer and story teller! She has a way of putting you in the book right along with her characters. I love that Brittney brings in all of our favorites from other books. If you are into long books this will be your jam, so don't miss it. Carter was everything I was hoping he would be, and Diana was his perfect match. Carter has been through so much, and my heart broke for him! He deserves having someone to love him for who he really is and someone to love him back, and Diana did just that. I wasn't expecting to not like Rebecca. I really expected there's to be such an amazing love that he couldn't get over. That ending wow... now I can't wait for the next book. The narrators were good. The female narrator isn't one of my favorites only because she always sounds like she's whispering and I have to turn the sound way up. Great book!

The plot was good! Female narrator not my favorite she sounded like an AI reader. There were times I found myself not paying attention. The sex scenes were a little more than I prefer. I had a hard time following along with who was who at times.
