Historia
The first three books in the Immortal Series, in one box set! Book one: Immortal...in the twenty-first century, Adam confronts new dangers - someone has found out what he is... Book two: Hellenic Immortal; an oracle has predicted the sojourner’s end, which is a problem for Adam insofar as he has never encountered an oracular prediction that didn’t come true... Book three: Immortal at the Edge of the World; Adam will have to complete a quest he gave up on a thousand years earlier, for an object that may no longer exist....

Light Entertainment for bedtime
Revisado: 05-24-23
I enjoy audio books before sleep time to take my mind off the real world. I most enjoy light fantasy with humor. The Immortal series punches all the buttons for me including a competent reader with a mostly pleasant voice. I state "mostly" because he struggles making female voices sound realistic.
To other reviewers who complain about "the gore", one must understand that a character cannot survive 60,000 years just by being a nice guy. Most of those years were very uncivilized and Adam would have found himself in many "survival of the fittest" moments.
I enjoyed all three novels in this single volume and will likely procure others. If you have reasonable expectations going in to the series, you will likely have a satisfactory experience with these books.

Historia
The galaxy is doomed. Monkeys may be clever and too stubborn to give up, but Skippy The Idiot Who Got Played knows the harsh truth: this is a fight he can’t win. The odds are not only stacked against him, he was designed not to win this fight. Maybe he can salvage some faint memory of the civilizations that inhabit the galaxy, but those beings are doomed. Doomed. Including the Merry Band of Pirates.

I had to listen to the last chapters again...
Revisado: 01-20-23
I had to listen to the last chapters again just to convince myself that this is the way it ended. I thought I missed something along the way but nope, this is just it! As others have written, the story just runs out of stream and coasts to the end. I'm glad there's an end to the story arc, I just wish it was more satisfying than this.

Historia
Clunk, a clapped-out robot, is convinced he's about to be junked. Instead, his penny-pinching boss is sending him off to be refurbished. Being old and wise, Clunk knows there's a catch, but at first it doesn't seem too bad. He just has to help a freelancer pick up some cargo. Unfortunately, Hal Spacejock - the freelancer - is obstinate, over-confident, and woefully under-skilled, and he's never going to let a lowly robot fly his precious ship. Is there any chance this pair of misfits can lift off, collect the cargo and deliver it in one piece?

Rather inane but pleasantly entertaining
Revisado: 01-03-22
I have to admit, after hearing the Dragon and Chips series by Simon Haynes I became accustomed to easily falling asleep to the voice of the Australian narrator, Graeme Hague. It took a chapter of two for me to become acclimated to the Australian accent and it has become a nightly ritual of chuckling myself to sleep. This is a light-hearted adventure and a very pleasant diversion from the real world. Although the story is banal, the dialogue is quite humorous. So, 3 stars for story, 5 for performance and 4 overall for many pleasant nights' sleep.

Historia
Terrance Denby takes an unusual route to work one day and finds himself in an enchanted forest where winged fairies give him a sword and tell him, “Your journey is about to begin. Learn to use this sword or perish.” Terrance doesn’t have time to go on a magical quest: he’s late for his job as a computer programmer. But when he gets to work, he suddenly notices things he hadn’t seen before. Like the fact that his boss is a demon with scaly skin, horns, and bloodstained fangs.

First Audible book I’ve ever returned
Revisado: 11-01-21
While the overall concept of the Sidequest is great, the details become completely lost. It reads like it was written by a sixth-grader with gaping plot holes and unbelievable characters. The character that was most annoying is the girlfriend/demonic warrior. Why would anyone fall in love with a merciless killer just for a nice smile or a good lay? How shallow is Terrance, the protagonist? Perhaps the most annoying facet of her character was the way reader, Richard Cefalos voiced her sounding like a spoiled child. Even though I tried to concentrate on what she was saying rather than how it sounded, it always made her seem totally shallow and self-centered. BTW, Cefalos reading of the male characters were superb, especially Terrance’s office buddy. I really had to plow through to finish the book but was useful in putting me to sleep most nights. I was thankful when I got to the end...so it went back. A first for this Audible subscriber.

A fitting end to the saga
Revisado: 02-11-21
Despite the audio book being dragged out for about 6 hours longer than necessary, the general contours of the story fit the overall narrative. Each of the several endings was also satisfying. R.C. Breasts performance was the best part.
