Historia
A town will only suffer the presence of a witch for as long as she is useful. Aisling watches the flames lick her thighs and prays for a quick death. But when an Unseelie prince appears through the smoke, she does what any self respecting witch would do. She curses him. Bran should never have traveled to the human realm, and is shocked when a witch binds them together. His life is hers and he refuses to die. He saves her from the fires, casts a hex on the townsfolk for good measure, then whisks her away to safety. His only stipulation? She has to remove the binding curse.

BEYOND ALL EXPECTATIONS
Revisado: 02-22-19
Swan Princess is one of my favorite fairy tales and this book is now one of my favorite books! I was so invested and engulfed by this story I completely forgot about the whole retelling aspect. Bran *melts* Aisling *melts* the two of them together throughout this book *melts* The are delightfully hilarious and steamy and completely full of passion. They just sometimes (or almost always) have a different idea of what direction to take their passion. This is a journey that is masterfully woven together and events just slap you in the face. I loved every page and wouldn't change a thing other than it had to end. I had a book hangover when this was over which is a mark of an incredible book! YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK. YOU'RE WELCOME!

Absolutely best read of the Summer!
Revisado: 10-12-18
Emma Hamm has done such an amazing job with wrapping up this amazing retelling of Beauty and the Beast. The character development is perfection. I feel like I truly know the characters inside and out. Their journey in the book is a bit terrifying in the best possible way. I definitely shed some tears and was on the edge of my seat. I truly was transported into Sorcha and Eamonn's world. They both are such strong characters but I love how powerful and strong willed Sorcha is instead of just being a timid after thought to the beast of a man Eamonn. The emotions are intense because you are right there with the characters in this journey. This is not the predictable retelling of a Disney classic! It's super exciting and unpredictable. This is simply thrilling and one of my favorite reads of the summer and probably the year! I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend this to anyone who loves fantasy, mystery, romance, strong characters, and wants to be transported to the Otherworld!
The narrator is the first I have come across that I think actually adds to the story. Don't get me wrong I love a lot of narrators but this was a match made in heaven. Her accent and voice for characters really added to the enjoyment and keeping the listener wrapped up in the story! I hope she narrates the rest of the Otherworld series.

I couldn't listen to this book because the narration was so awful. It might be a good storyline but I wouldn't know bc I could not get through it at all

Disappointing after #1
Revisado: 07-01-13
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
:( I loved loved loved Divergent. The concept of the factions practically made my eyes sparkle in honest gratitude for such a fresh new concept. I still appreciate that concept in Insurgent but my eyes are now rolling. This whole book could be two chapters. Each huge event that should have been so powerful (ie if and how she will talk about Will) it just sort of happens then its like okay moving on. These are young adults everything is a big deal but they seem to just not get worked up. Give me some drama!!! That's why I read young adult!!

Historia
In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

If you could sum up Divergent in three words, what would they be?
Another great recommendation from my sister I loved the concept of the factions!! It does remind me of Hunger Games but less intense and more concepts and facets to the story. I will definitely be reading the next in this series!!

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Ok I have to get this out of my system....why does she talk like a hillbilly!!! You can make people sound uneducated without making it torture to read!! Anyways she doesn't talk much thank goodness. I like that she is a firecracker loner and a young girl lead. If you have a weak stomach and/or want believability this book is not for you. Did I mention it's torture how Temple speaks?!?! Ok good. I like that she kicks male butt and takes names. It is true there is not much Z action but I actually enjoy that just as much. I'm split down the middle with this one. If you love Temple, the female lead, you will love this book. Never mind she just started talking a ton she is annoying, stupid and rude. I don't know why anyone would risk their safety for her she is a crazy person! When she is not talking things are much better! I'm pretty sure she calls a mentally challenged man Dumby the whole book as well. She is a complete idiot who is loose and I'm not sure what is appealing about her to men.

What?!! Coben+YA=Amazing!!
Revisado: 06-29-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Thoroughly enjoyed this book soooo excited about this series!!! Ok so I'm a Coben fan! I think he is a genius writer combining well written plots, characters and wit. But I have to admit I got a bit sick of the Myron Bolitar series and gave Coben up for good (or so I thought). I thought I would get back into him when I wondered onto these YA books. What?!??! Coben+YA= the best!! I know! I was very excited too! So we follow Mickey Bolitar who just so happens to be the nephew of....you got it!!....Myron Bolitar! This book is fantastic! Mickey is beyond like able he is downright impossible not to love. He befriends kids Ema (Emma's nickname from a bully) and Spoon (a nickname from Mickey) both of these friends are quirky, full of personality and hilarious. Mickey being the tall jock at a new school should be friends with the dull popular people (I used to be a pop highschooler we are boring!!) but instead Corben has him befriend these colorful and caring outcasts. So besides loving the well developed characters the plot is just as rich. It doesn't really seem young adult bc I was engulfed and challenged. The story is easy to follow and does not lose interest at any point. It is chalked full of several themes, plot stories and character development without being confusing!! (I don't know how Coben does this!) I'm already on to the next in this series and would suggest this book to any crime thriller fans!

If you could sum up Seconds Away in three words, what would they be?
Coben does not let me down in this next book of the Mickey Bolitar series! We get to know Ema and Spoon more in this book which is so enjoyable! The crime plot is much more simple in this book less twists and turns but I enjoyed that bc it seems more realistic after the craziness in the last book! Coben has be laugh out loud as usual for all his books. Mickey is so stinking likeable!! These are easy reads but only because they are extremely well written not bc they are YA. This series is fast paced each chapter keeps you enthralled and never bored!!

What did you love best about Amber House?
I would have given it 5 stars if the ending were not incomplete. I loved this story I even got scared at parts which takes me a lot to get spooked but it really wraps you in. There were so many interesting story lines that never got wrapped up at the end I was so disappointed but I still loved the story just be ready for a let down at the end and many questions left hanging! If she would have just written one more chapter would have been 5 stars and fab! Can't wait for the next book in the series!

A pretty good read!
Revisado: 06-29-13
Is there anything you would change about this book?
This reminds me of the Host BUT its good!! It's not 5,000 pages of boring emptiness. It keeps your attention and isn't pretentious like Ms. Meyers book. I enjoyed the characters and their struggles. A bit of a lovey story was annoying (only bc I don't like them) but was bearable bc it wasn't all frilly and obnoxious again like the Host was bleck! I generally like when books change points of view but for some reason I didn't enjoy that aspect in this book I liked Cassie's POV and found myself enjoying those chapters more than others. All in all s good book but not something I will obsess about!
