Historia
All Systems Red is the tense first science fiction adventure novella in Martha Wells' series The Murderbot Diaries. For fans of Westworld, Ex Machina, Ann Leckie's Imperial Raadch series, or Iain M. Banks' Culture novels. The main character is a deadly security droid that has bucked its restrictive programming and is balanced between contemplative self-discovery and an idle instinct to kill all humans.

Nothing special
Revisado: 10-10-22
Don't know why this book is rated that high.
Perhaps that's individual taste. Didn't feel the story was gripping, detailed, etc.
There was some action but not really. Skip reading it if you can.

I like Sanderson's books but of the two stories written here - 1st was average and 2nd was at best below average. Perhaps these are part of a bigger series which I am not aware of - so didn't find both stories interesting.

Loved the story, characters and everything
Revisado: 10-10-22
Bought this series during the sale.
Really good. The writer leverages the LOTR background (Elves, humans, dwarfs) and fantastically builds the story and its characters.
The main two characters - are a great combo - funny, doing all sorts of bravery and foolishness, etc.
Worth buying this 6 books series - as an audible product - they were a trilogy with each book holding 2 volumes.
Tim Gerard Reynolds has really good vocals - Even with so many characters it was easy to understand when he was speaking a character - he is gifted.

Historia
Imperial Intelligence couldn't find them, the Imperial Fleet couldn't catch them, and local defenses couldn't stop them. It seemed the planet-wrecking pirates were invincible. But they made a big mistake when they raided ex-commando leader Alicia DeVries' quiet home/work, tortured and murdered her family, and then left her for dead. Alicia decided to turn "pirate" herself, and stole a cutting-edge AI ship from the empire to start her vendetta. Her fellow veterans think she's gone crazy, the Imperial Fleet has shoot-on-sight orders. And, of course, the pirates want her dead, too.

Great voice. Story very average.
Revisado: 04-09-22
The performer Vivienne is pretty good. The variation in the voice was amazing. That made the story & characters easy to follow. Voice literally gave face to the characters and had all the sentiments, emotions. Was easy to understand the intensity of respective moments each time.
Main characters were good in the story.
The story had huge number of characters, most mentioned just once or twice. It was likely done to give some meaning to the acts of those characters during war/action - it was insane nonetheless . Additionally it was very hard to follow characters because of very bizzare naming too.
The name of main characters were fine but then each sub plot brought in huge number of new characters. You will probably face difficulty because you may want to remember a character thinking it will reappear in future - but that will not happen.
As I listened to the audible book, each time if I had to pick the story back where i had left it last, I had to go back quite a few minutes to recollect who exactly is the character in the scene. So this was quite terrible. I gave up in the last 16hours and started to listen without care of character name allowing the story meaning to be lost at times.
I think I got the overall story but the characters made it so confusing.
Also the use of military jargon was crazy. And explanation of each encounter during long fights got too confusing where author was explaining where exactly the battle ship is positioned. If I had the book I might have skipped through to the point where meaningful part of the story was.
I think the story could have been a 5~hour audible but was made unnecessarily long.

Historia
The author Sri "M" is an extraordinary individual. His uniqueness lies not only in the fact that at the young age of 19 and a half, he travelled to snow-clad Himalayas from Kerala, and there he met and lived for several years with a "real-time" yogi, Babaji, but also that he should undertake such an unusual and adventurous exploration, given his non-Hindu birth and antecedents. The metamorphosis of Mumtaz Ali Khan into Sri "M", a yogi with profound knowledge of the Upanishads and deep personal insights, is born of first-hand experiences with higher levels of consciousness....

Not sure what to write. perhaps Roller coster
Revisado: 02-06-22
The writer gives account of so many things/incidences that are hard to believe, but seeing him on YouTube also makes me feel he has tons of knowledge.
I guess it's hard to judge someone as it also takes courage to reveal all quite personal accounts just as experienced in original form specially when there's chance to face criticism/mockery etc.
anyways, I remain skepticle but this book did trigger in me a spark to deep dive into some of the works of the grand masters of spiritualism that are revealed in this book.
I'll read/listen to more works from him and others..

Historia
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Great story, great characters, twists, happenings
Revisado: 01-27-22
Narrator Michael is awesome. Female Narrative was bit strange at first but then got used to the tone. I think there is scope of improvement there.
The story is awesome. I don't understand how Brandon Sanderson can create so many great works. The detail descriptions of simple acts/things/dialogues, the plot, the in depth thought process of what characters talk about, etc. etc. All of it is awesome. this is the first of the five books so far I'm looking forward to read/hear them all.

For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

Great story, good characters, awesome voice
Revisado: 12-29-21
Michael Kramer is pretty good - probably Top 3 if not the Top. He brings characters to life. His tone varies for each character so it's very easy to identify who the character is and hear the story without much strain and at high speed. Finished this book in 3~4 days.
The Story is a very much Brandon Sanderson story - very fast-paced and full of action and turmoil and mystery and delivers on the promises.

some stories were made too intricate for no purpose, some had uninteresting endings but overall a mixed bag of interesting stories. not so interesting ones were also at the least originals and required ingenuity.

Good listen
Revisado: 10-22-21
The story moves slowly in the sense that it's day by day description of one's life. but is quite entertaining.
The start is slow and in a way useless - probably the author tried to build up the excitement until some chapters later when the story starts, Not sure what was author attempting to do there - but anyways once its starts, it's a good story.
Happy reading.
I heard 3rd book isn't out yet so I will not be listening to 2nd book until 3rd is out.
