Historia
Tara Westover and her family grew up preparing for the End of Days but, according to the government, she didn’t exist. She hadn’t been registered for a birth certificate. She had no school records because she’d never set foot in a classroom, and no medical records because her father didn’t believe in hospitals. As she grew older, her father became more radical and her brother more violent. At 16, Tara knew she had to leave home. In doing so she discovered both the transformative power of education, and the price she had to pay for it.

Historia
Between his work on the 2014 Audible Audiobook of the Year, Hamlet, Prince of Denmark: A Novel, and his performance of Classic Love Poems, narrator Richard Armitage ( The Hobbit, Hannibal) has quickly become a listener favorite. Now, in this defining performance of Charles Dickens' classic David Copperfield, Armitage lends his unique voice and interpretation, truly inhabiting each character and bringing real energy to the life of one of Dickens' most famous characters.

Two kids meet in a hospital gaming room in 1987. One is visiting her sister, the other is recovering from a car crash. The days and months are long there. Their love of video games becomes a shared world—of joy, escape and fierce competition. But all too soon that time is over, fades from view. When the pair spot each other eight years later in a crowded train station, they are catapulted back to that moment. The spark is immediate, and together they get to work on what they love—making games.

Most lovable character
Revisado: 08-17-23
I never knew I could love a character as much as I loved Sam. This book has made me nostalgic in every way. I hope this isn't the last of Sam Mazer. Luckily, live is long, unless it is not. Thanks, Gabrielle.

Struggled to finish this book. Author has a chip on her shoulder. I feel sorry for her mother but the rest is just hatred. The very same hatred she is trying to showcase, she too feels.

Would make a better movie
Revisado: 09-22-22
It's a good idea, just a bit too slow and lacks a danger aspect you would expect from a secret society. As a movie it would probably move faster.

Historia
In a scrap heap within an abandoned factory, the greatest invention in history lies dormant and unused. By what fatal error of judgment has its value gone unrecognized, its brilliant inventor punished rather than rewarded for his efforts? In defense of those greatest of human qualities that have made civilization possible, one man sets out to show what would happen to the world if all the heroes of innovation and industry went on strike.

For females but excellent!
Revisado: 03-16-20
Loved the narrator, she is impeccable! Thank you! I think this book is very feminine and written mostly like a woman would think. Lots of detail and emotions but also authentic. I couldn't put it down, the build up to the end was so well done, I'm still a bit shocked haha!
