Another Great Thrawn Story!

I loved the first of the new, canon Timothy Zahn "Thrawn," novels, mostly because it was so focused on Thrawn himself, as well as Eli Vanto, who became an instantly likeable character. The second novel, "Thrawn Alliances," was good, but not nearly as enjoyable to me as the first, mainly because it contained a lot with two characters whom I mostly can't stand, Anakin Skywalker, and Padme Amidala. However, the parts with Thrawn and Vader were awesome. This third of the Thrawn novels is a very enjoyable return to a story mostly focused on Thrawn himself, as well as on several other major and minor characters whom Zahn writes with an undeniable magnetism, either for their like ability, or their utter loathable nature.

As usual Marc Thompson puts out an amazing vocal performance, proving once again he's a master of many voices and intonations. And the superb use of sound effects and overall audio production male this audio book a must listen.

What made the experience of listening to The Death and Life of Zebulon Finch, Volume 2: Empire Decayed the most enjoyable?

Aside from author Daniel Kraus creating one of the most unique, epic, and ambitious stories I've ever read, the reader, Kirby Heyborne, does a great job of breathing life into a book about a dead guy. Heyborne's narration, especially after listening to him narrate book one, drew me in and placed me in the story. The ways in which Heyborne voices the separate characters really helps the listener to identify and distinguish among the characters.

Among the most unique, imaginative, epic, darkly humorous books I've ever read. Great narrator too. Moving on to the second book immediately.
