At first I thought yeah this is ok... I like it enough but then bam I completely fell in love with these two mc's Emerson and Sam. My heart broke a little bit for both of them and their individual circumstances. Sammie was just the best most lovable and real character... who else could have thawed and worked their self into Emerson's heart!? They both needed each other so much but didn't realize it. I was so happy when they both admitted their feelings. Such a great hea!!This is another one of those couples on my "don't mess with this couple or else" list. 😂🥰

Not only did I love the mc's but there was some great secondary characters, fun banter, lots of steamy times, and I just loved watching these two fall in love. Plus the narration was awesome!!

So let me just say that I absolutely loved this book. My review may be lacking because I listened to it over a period of time as I only listened to it in the car when on a trip (which also means not many quotes to share).

Anyways aside from that I don't know how to explain it. First off something about this cover just drew me in. Next, it took me a minute to get used to the accents but I wouldn't read it any other way. The narrators were amazing and truly brought the characters to life. I don't think I could have gotten the full effect hearing it my voice. Lol. Then I fell in love with the mc's, Toby (19) and Lawrence/Laurie (37). The banter between them, their inner monologues, the way Toby would blurt out whatever he was thinking/feeling, his frustrations and confusion, his honesty and maturity for his age, Laurie's misconstrued thoughts on relationships based on a previous breakup, him having a more reserved/forbidden outlook on their age gap. I also loved that Toby was the younger dominant one and Laurie being the older more experienced submissive and how much they wanted to please each other.

It was just all so "real" hence the perfect title "For Real". If you're looking for action, suspense, or the likes, you won't get that here but you will get a beautiful love story that grows throughout the book, great characters, steam, light bdsm, family, friends, chosen family, and the everyday life (sometimes drama) that brings them to their hea!!

This was definitely a five star read for me and I highly recommend.

Love this couple!!

I read this a while back and just realized I didn't rate and review it at the time. I loved Grant and Declan together. They were so good for each other plus had so much chemistry. There's a crazy cliffy though and you'll be dying for book 2.

Ps. the two narrators were amazing!!

Mini review: Wow all that dirty daddy talk was 🔥🔥🔥! This was an awesome story with some great characters! I was so happy these two mc's, Cal and Gideon, found each other. They were both exactly what the other needed...Someone to care about them and someone to care for, and someone to love. Cal especially needed this due to his family situation and Gideon needed to give it. Oh and the narrator, Liam Dicosimo, did an amazing job making all the characters come to life! Loved his voice! 5 stars from me and highly recommend!

Ok..Firstly I'm going to say this right up front...my review is not going to do this book justice. I'm a simple person with a simple voice and I feel like I'm incapable of expressing my thoughts clearly...BUT...I know what I like and I know what's good and this book is both.

I listened to this book on audio and I'm so happy that I did because the way the author wrote this book is like your being told the story. Listening to Curtis Michael narrate the story felt like I just sat down with my bestie (that I hadn't seen in forever) and she/he was telling me all the neighborhood gossip/news and I was completely captivated by all the different people (coming and going), the sex, the drugs, the good and bad of every day life at and around Club Sanctuary. The main characters Joey (who is telling the story) and Henry fit perfectly together and are an intricate part in the Gayborhood. Not only do they have their gay bar/club that provides a safe place to other gay people in their community but they also try to help other businesses/people to make their way as well. There is just so many emotions you go through listening to the different people's stories. There is this one part (I have to mention) about Ruby and Rosetta 😭...I'm not gonna say what but that was seriously heartbreaking 😭😭😭!!

Needless to say I'm excited to start book two. I'm hoping for the audio soon so I can listen along with the book.

Ps: There are so many amazing reviews for this book...way better than mine...go read them and give this book/ series a try...you'll happy that you did!!

Beautifully and Excellently told story!!

This is a reread for me except the first time was in ebook format. The narrator Michael Dean did an excellent job at giving me all the feels as if it was my first time reading the story. This along with the author's adept way of making you feel all the characters emotions had me fully immersed in the story for a second time.

Wyatt and Kai's story is about overcoming and/or learning to deal with past traumas, second chances, and finding that one person that feels like home to you no matter where you are.

If you haven't read this book yet, I highly recommend! You not only get the deep subject of the storyline about ptsd/trauma but also the beauty of falling in love, sharing adventures, and wonderful characters that will make your heart full!! Easily a 5 star read!!

Emotional, Sweet, and Steamy...Loved it!!

I read this first in ebook format and I truly love this series. Even though I love them all, I think Matt and Jasper's story is my favorite. From Matt's heartbreaking past to what happened with Jasper's ex in the beginning, they just both had my heart!! I think as much as Matt needed to be showed love that Jasper needed to give it (and he got it 10 fold with Matt's family the Deerwood clan)!! The last quarter of this book kept me teary eyed and with Sam's "talk" with Jasper near the end it just reaffirms that we need a Book 5!!

This story/series with all it wonderful characters feel just like family and Iggy Toma did a great job bringing them all to life on my reread!

If you haven't tried this series yet, I highly recommend. It has everything you want in a romance with the perfect amount of plot, fun banter, wonderful characters and steamy scenes!!

When I first started listening to this book, I was a little unsure how I was feeling about the "cocky and competitive" banter (as it's pretty OTT). However it didn't take me long to warm up to both Ethan and Sean, the two mc's, and fall for their competitive ways. And come to find out they were both super sweet and caring underneath all the cockiness.

Due to the loss of family in their past neither wanted to ever commit a real relationship for fear of losing someone special again... so they both liked to keep things light and always with a no strings attached rule. But their chemistry (in bed and out), love of competitiveness, and enjoyment of each other's company wouldn't let that happen this time.

I loved the secondary characters especially Sean's mom and dad. The way they welcomed Ethan into their lives/family was wonderful...and the revelation Sean's mom told Ethan towards the end had me shedding a few tears not to mention the reconciliation with Ethan's grandmother. Such an awesome HEA!!
