Historia
Humans seem to believe that this chaotic mess of a universe is more or less puttering along on its own. As if universes were completely natural concepts. What if I told you there were no scientific laws? What if I told you that everything, including the facts you are most certain about, could fundamentally change at a moment’s notice and never go back to the way they were before? All life, each object, every feeling or thought you possess, are based entirely upon Spells. It is an active, continual process. They are creating us this very instant.

I liked the book and premise, but the ending was abrupt and less than satisfying

Historia
Set in present-day Los Angeles, Junk explores an epic conspiracy, one at work for thousands of years that involves total takeover of the planet Earth by aliens. In the wild, souped-up vision of Les Bohem - the acclaimed, Emmy-winning writer of the Steven Spielberg miniseries, Taken - the world is at the end stage of long-range plot that involves a gigantic genetic-engineering project. The aliens who have invaded us have no planet. No spaceship is coming. Instead, a small advance force comes, breeds, and dies - thus becoming an anomaly in our DNA that can’t be explained.

Not for me
Revisado: 11-16-19
Gloomy post apocalyptic story with lots of casual killing. Not a big problem, but seemly no resolution in sight as I was significantly into the book. The narrator was a good reader, but not the usual good "voice actor" I am used to in other stories. There were no appreciable distinctions between character voices.
Even though I no longer cared about the characters, the story and knew I would quickly forget about the book, I was still going to force my way through it. I finally thought "oh no, what if this is the first of a series!?!?" Regardless of whether it was, I chose that moment to stop listening as evidence that I had SO MANY better books to listen to than this one.
Caveat: I stopped listening 7.5 hours into this 10 hour book.
