Meh..
Revisado: 06-04-23
Unfortunately, this series leaves out mountains of information and details relating to the criminal charges that were readily available by the time it was produced.
It does include criticisms of the former pop star, but mostly in relation to his grandiose sense of self and the various ways in which he attempted to portray himself as larger than life using the media.
The testimony of Gavin Arvizo is completely dismissed because the kid once smirked during a deposition. All other accusers, or potential victims, are completely ignored.
The title of this series should actually be Don't Think Twice. Thinking twice implies critical thinking which does not seem to be the goal of this series. Rather, they would have you just accept a flat denial in spite of all the other evidence.
I say, don't waste your time. But don't just believe me.. listen to it yourself and see if I lied.

Historia
To his neighbors, Wayne Nance, a furniture mover from Missoula, Montana, appeared to be an affable, considerate, and trustworthy guy. No one knew that Nance was the "Missoula Mauler," a psychopath responsible for a series of sadistic sex slayings that rocked the idyllic town between 1974 and 1986. Nance's only requirement for murder was accessibility - a preacher's wife, a teenage runaway, a female acquaintance, a married couple. Putting on a friendly façade, he could easily gain his victims' trust. Then, one September night, thirty-year-old Nance pushed his luck.

Good story. The reader might put you to sleep. If you speed it up to 1.25x speed, it's way more tolerable

I... don't know
Revisado: 09-15-18
If there was an underlying narrative, it was lost on me. As an experience, it was like a bunch of strung together stories that weren't really strung together by anything. Fear? Okay.
Having said that, this was probably the most human treatment Trump will ever receive.

I stuck with this one to the end because I'm sincerely fascinated by how someone who can write can simultaneously have no idea how to tell a story. This will be my last go round with these characters.

Historia
Stalking the tawdry neon wilderness of forties and fifties Los Angeles, Raymond Chandler's hard-drinking, wise-cracking Phillip Marlowe is one of the world's most famous fictional detectives. Playback finds Marlowe mixing business with pleasure - getting paid to follow a mysterious and lovely red-head named Eleanor King. And wherever Miss King goes, trouble seems to follow. But she's easy on the eye and Marlowe's happy to do as he's told, all in the name of chivalry, of course.

Disappointing
Revisado: 10-29-15
Not sure what happened with this last one. It's almost like he wasn't even the author of the first quarter of the book. The style is noticeably different, lacking all of Marlowe's trademark perspective. It's odd, to say the least. Sadly, I can't recommend this one. The rest are great.

Stories like these are always enraging to me. This is an abusive relationship on the macro scale. I'm at a loss as to why this "church" is allowed to continue.

Or leastways that's what she tells PI Philip Marlowe, offering him a measly twenty bucks for the privilege. But Marlowe's feeling charitable - though it's not long before he wishes he wasn't so sweet. You see, Orrin's trail leads Marlowe to luscious movie starlets, uppity gangsters, suspicious cops and corpses with ice picks jammed in their necks.
