Hearing the Presidents’ speeches in their voices was wonderful. It gave color to the book that I don’t think would come through just reading them.

Such a great story of perseverance

I wondered if this was a true story, or possibly historical fiction, but such a wonderful story of believing in yourself and not conforming to other’s ideas of what you can and can not do. My only “ding” was the constant mispronunciation of Jack LaLanne’s name. As one who is old enough to remember his television show - way before anyone has ever heard of w Simmons or Jane Fonda- I’m so glad they used him in the story, but when you’re talking about a real person it would be nice if the narrator could get that right.

Couldn’t even finish

After nine hours in a couldn’t go further. Another 21 hours seemed like it would be torture. No apparent plot unfolded, lots of seemingly unneeded character details. The narrator’s voice was soporific, so not a book to listen to while commuting Gave up. First time ever to do so.

The story was different and unpredictable. The narrators were pretty good, but at the end the voices tended to blur into each other. Several grammatical errors and using the wrong pronunciation for a character’s name jarred. Overall a fun listen.
