Swipe Right To This Audiobook!
Revisado: 11-15-24
As someone who primarily reads memoirs and historical fiction, I didn’t expect to be so captivated by It’s in the Bio. After interviewing the author, Contessa Thornton, I decided to give the audiobook a try—and after listening to the sample, I was completely hooked.
The story follows Monica, a single woman navigating the chaotic world of dating apps while battling anxiety. Thornton’s writing is superb, bringing Monica’s character to life in a way that feels authentic and deeply relatable. I found myself rooting for her, but also wanting to scream at her for some of the decisions she made—a testament to how invested I became in her journey.
The narration is excellent, with a tone and pacing that perfectly capture the humor and emotional depth of the story. The immersive sound effects elevate the experience, making you feel as if you’re right there beside Monica during her adventures.
The audiobook is a quick but impactful listen, with a twist at the end that left me speechless. It’s in the Bio is a witty, heartfelt, and engaging story that I can’t recommend enough, whether you’re a fan of romance, character-driven narratives, or just an excellent audiobook experience.

A very interesting life
Revisado: 10-15-20
This book is read by the author and many reviews have disliked the reading. I found it authentic. I felt as if I were sitting in a room with her as she told her life story. Yes, she is not a professional reader and she gulps and her lips snap on occasion and she pauses to take a breath when there is no comma, but I found it beautiful. The imperfections added to the authenticity of the story. You could hear the tears in her voice as she remembers some of the tragedies in her life and it brought me to tears, something you would miss with a professional reader. The story itself is very interesting and it paints Princess Margaret as more human than she is often portrayed. You get to understand why the princess was the way she was. If you are someone that discriminates against the aged, then don’t buy the book. If you are someone that has difficulty understanding someone that speaks the very proper queen’s English then don’t buy the book. If you want to listen to a story and feel like you are sitting in your grandma’s room as she tells you her life, then I highly recommend this book.

Historia
Tornadoes, cyclones, tsunamis… Weather can be deadly – especially when it strikes without warning. Millions of Americans could soon find themselves at the mercy of violent weather if the public data behind lifesaving storm alerts gets privatized for personal gain. In his first Audible Original feature, New York Times best-selling author and journalist Michael Lewis delivers hard-hitting research on not-so-random weather data – and how Washington plans to release it.

An Hour Into The Book And Nothing About Weather
Revisado: 09-09-18
This book starts off about how an astronaut got her job as the first female to walk in space and how a data scientist ended up in the Obama administration. I stopped after an hour of this book because it reads more like a political commentary than about a book about weather reporting.

This is a sleep meditation that is supposed to put you into a deep sleep, yet at the end of it Audible has their announcer say at full volume, after you have fallen to sleep "Audible hopes you enjoyed this program" and it wakes you back up!

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Great Story but really long
Revisado: 08-06-15
Have you listened to any of Craig Wasson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
The narration was somewhat odd as the narrator tried to do different voices, but ended up doing the same voice for everyone, so a teenager sounded like a 60 year old. It was very odd.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It took a while to get through the book as King's writing at time can be a bit laborious

Historia
If you're an Indo-Muslim-British-American actor who has spent more time in bars than mosques over the past few decades, turns out it's a little tough to explain who you are or where you are from. In No Land's Man Aasif Mandvi explores this and other conundrums through stories about his family, ambition, desire, and culture that range from dealing with his brunch-obsessed father, to being a high-school-age Michael Jackson impersonator, to joining a Bible study group in order to seduce a nice Christian girl, to improbably becoming America's favorite Muslim/Indian/Arab/Brown/Doctor correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Not bad
Revisado: 08-06-15
What did you love best about No Land's Man?
The book is a brief snippet of his life. His narration was fast paced, more like he was actually telling his stories rather than reading from a book, which I liked. There was not much substance to it, but it was interesting.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I actually listened to this in two sittings on a long drive to and from a distant destination. Helped to pass the time well.

Historia
We are accustomed to think of sociopaths as violent criminals, but in The Sociopath Next Door, Harvard psychologist Martha Stout reveals that a shocking 4 percent of ordinary people, one in 25, has an often undetected mental disorder, the chief symptom of which is that that person possesses no conscience. He or she has no ability whatsoever to feel shame, guilt, or remorse. One in 25 everyday Americans, therefore, is secretly a sociopath.

A deep, dark personal account of Alan Cummings childhood and his journey to come to terms with his past. If you are looking for a well written account of someone dealing with their childhood demons, this is for you. If you are looking for frivolous celebrity Hollywood gossip, look elsewhere. Disappointing
Revisado: 09-12-06
This should have been called "Why I Hate the FDA and the FTC." Althought the books gives a lot of alleged information on the mafia like tatics of the FDA and FTC, it fails to deliver on the title. Natural cures provides no natural cures. Kevin claims that the FDA and the FTC would not allow him to put it in the book. So why publish it under that title? He then goes on to say if you want to know the products that are the natural cures, then go to his web site and become a member and he would reveal all! To become a member on the site, you have to pay $9.99 a month or a lifetime fee of $999.00. However, after you pay for the book, which has no cure information, and then pay $9.99 for the membership, he still has no information because he says the FDA and the FTC has forbidden him to do so. Although this could be true, why not show the actual letter on the site that states this. Now it starts to sound like a big scam. Lots of talk and no proof. I was very disappointed, and was quite ready to defend the "Snake Oil" accusation of another reviewer, but now I'm not so sure. Yes I believe and know there are natural cures out there, but this book fails to provide them. A waste of a good Audible credit.
